This was actually a pretty quick build, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just over an hour | Just finished the Gundam heavyarms! Here are my thoughts on it; I got this one at hobby lobby, since they barely have anything new I needed to grab at least one. The main thing that pushed me to get this instead of the real grade rx-78-2 is the fact that it's from Gundam wing, the anime I watched some of but never finished. But it actually turned out to be one of the better kits in my collection! Starting with articulation, it's pretty good compared to the last couple high grades I've built! The armor doesn't block it too much, and all of the joints are rock solid; The only issue I have is this mechanism that is blocked by the chest armor if you don't pull it up enough. It resembles the livelance heaven, which means it probably copied this from the Gundam deathscythe. I'll go into this more in detail later on. As for weapons, the main thing is this machine gun, which resembles the one on the high grade gouf custom, but doesn't share any parts with it. It has a handle on the side for more realistic machine gun poses, but in my experience it just limits articulation. It also doesn't attach via a handle like a regular shield or gun, but instead you detach the current hand piece and slide the dark blue part over the forearm. I'm honestly not mad about this since most of the wing kits I've built require you to remove the hands for whatever reason anyway. The more observant of you would've noticed this blade on the other arm. This doesn't really do much, it's just a knife that swings out from the forearm for some basic melee capabilities. As for the rest of them... I'll let the image speak for itself. Back to the thing I mentioned about Gundam deathscythe, this kit reuses some parts from it. The only reason I know this is because I built the livelance heaven which reuses a TON of parts from deathscythe. I mainly recognize the thumbs up hand pieces, but the other ones are likely also from the deathscythe, and you can swap them out with the default ones from the heavyarms. However I only tested the ankles (bottom right) at least the hands aren't loose as f*ck like on the livelance! Definitely one of the better kits I've built in a while, 9/10. Although I still like the 00 command qan[t] better for looks, the heavyarms is pretty unique due to the sheer amount of guns it has. IT'S DONE!

IT'S DONE! | Just finished the Gundam 00 command qan[t]! Here's how it turned out! I'll be calling it the quanta since it's easier to type, and that's how it was pronounced in the review I saw. This is one of the most unique looking Gundams in my collection! Sure there are militaristic looking mobile suits, but not militaristic looking GUNDAMS. This takes elements from the 00 quanta, and the command Gundam. Hence the name "command quanta"; This also has a feature that I'm sure anyone who builds a lot of Gundam kits absolutely LOVES. It can store ALL of it's weapons at once! I can only remember one other kit off the top of my head that could do that. And that was the high grade RX-78-2 (first Gundam I ever built); As for weapons, it has the sword and shield you just saw, these combat knives which detach from the sides of the shield; You can't use them at the same time as the shield due to how it attaches; And this beam rifle with a bayonet on the end; Off the topic of handheld weapons, the backpack is actually quite impressive; ESPECIALLY the missile launcher, it has really good articulation! It honestly makes this part from the other side kinda underwhelming... But it still has a purpose. It's how you mount the sword on the back. The only thing I didn't like about this kit was how the frontal hip armor attaches. In case you can't tell what's wrong here, it's attached by a FRICKIN BALL JOINT. And a very loose one at that. I decided to glue it in place just before I started on the weapons because I knew it wouldn't block leg articulation for the poses I'd be putting it in. I imagine this wasn't really a problem for the original kit this was built from (I'll get to that in a second); Overall a pretty good kit, 8/10. It would've been 9/10 if it didn't have the problem with the hip armor. It also has a lot of extra parts since it reuses parts from an older kit, so I'll show off some of the ones I can easily identify. Alternate bottoms for the feet. I learned these were the wrong ones the hard way. Original front hip armor. As you can see it's a lot less bulky, so I imagine it wouldn't collide with the legs as much. I can't test that since I already glued the intended one in place. And finally... ALL OF THE PARTS OF THE ORIGINAL 00 QUANTA HEAD! It's only missing eye stickers. Since it's in this (kinda ugly) green color it looks better on the command quanta, but I bet someone who's into kitbashing could find a good use for it. I forgot to mention articulation, but although it's pretty tight it has a nice range of motion | Finished the freedom Gundam! Here are my thoughts on it; I'll be switching between the action base this comes with, and a regular action base 1 throughout the review since the one with the kit is only good for mid-air poses. Although it's cool to see one of these in a kit, they aren't always very good. Starting with the beam sabers, it has two which can be stored on the hip armor. And for the Darth maul fans among you, they can be combined into a dual-bladed beam saber; Moving onto the shield... It isn't exactly the best. There's a small segment on the left side that collides with the shoulder a LOT. But I find that disconnecting the handle helps a bit; For the beam rifle, it's pretty average, although usually they're just gray. It also has the useless handle on the side that I imagine pretty much nobody uses. It's pretty common on these models, that's why I never mention it. As for the final weapon, two canons fold out from the wings, and two fold out from the hip armor. It is MENACING; Side note: these also have a useless handle on the side. As for a couple other notes, the opening cockpit on this kit is better than most other master grades, this time you can actually see the pilot! Most times you can't even tell there's anything in there. This kit also doesn't use any polycaps in the joints so a lot of them are pretty tight, definitely be careful while posing it. Overall a pretty good kit, 7.5/10. It was pretty backheavy due to the wings (which I kind of expected) but I didn't think it'd be as much of a problem on the action base. I WAS WRONG.
