I may not agree with all his decisions. But to stoop as low as celebrating his death - nope, not happening!
Justice Scalia, may you rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

I saw several memes celebrating it as well yesterday. One went as far as to say a few million more conservatives should die with him.

You should see what Linda Stasi (no pun intended) said about the conservatives killed at San Bernadino.

It just shows no class, no matter what side you're on. It sounds like the Westboro gang.

What did she say about the conservatives?

Indeed. Good F**king Riddance to a maggot that died with roast beef in his guts while decent people with honest careers starve in the street. imgflip.com/i/z9f2r

I don't know whether "saved the U.S. from so many liberal decisions" is an accurate statement or not, but I appreciate seeing a meme that honors Justice Scalia for his service to the country.

Here's things I hate about this:

Using a man's death as a personal attack aginst liberals.

Focusing on the fact that he opposed and prevented many liberal decisions from being put into action instead of the fact that he was an overall good man and took the time to serve the nation.

The fact that the only reason his death is famous among the internet is because of the controversy.

Repetiton.

I am starting to think that the Constitution should be amended with a 28th Amendment. This amendment would declare that in order to be eligible to be a Federal Judge one mmust: be at least 20-25 years of age, be a US Citizen by birth, have lived in the US for at least 12 years, and have an education in law for at least 6 years. Also, Congress would have more power to impeach/put on trial Justices who have been reasonably accused for engaging in legal or ethical misconduct.

Good thinking. I'm guessing the founding fathers were assuming that the leadership in the U.S. would make a wise decision regarding replacement of justices. Looking at who is president and who is in congress, I'd say that is a very good idea. I definitely think they should be older than 20. And would naturalized citizens be eligible?

Honored the constitution?!? He took a dump on it every chance he could. He wrote reams and reams of paper about States Rights, how the Right of the State to decide its future was more important than the Federal Government. Until 2000 when Florida had a counting problem. He and the 4 other conservative justices stopped Florida from carrying out it's recount- States Rights were paramount until it went counter to his personal opinions. The man was a hypocrite of the first order. IF he had allowed the State of Florida to exercise its right to fully recount the votes in 2000, Bush would have lost the electoral votes and Gore would have been elected.

What's wrong with liberal decisions? Generally I find them to be quite helpful to a large selction of the populace.

Corporations are entitled to the same rights as individuals are, but they can't be jailed for fraud or malfeasance. Way to save us from liberalism.
