Your first mistake was trying to reason with them. The number of trolls that I refuse to humor has grown to the point that I have a chart on who is who and which alts match which troll. It would take way too much time to go back through years of posts to find a time when any of them attempted to discuss issues without first making personal attacks, changing our words or distracting from the point of the meme. Stick to conversations with the adults in the room and ignore the trolls.

There is no quick answer but here goes. I joined imgflip years ago, even back then it was obvious many of the regulars used alts to get past 24 hr bans and to agree with themselves when they were losing arguments. That has never changed. The main trolls all use alts, most conservatives do not. I don't and never have. I also do not follow people I do not respect. I have no idea which trolls make and post memes, I just don't care. The trolls that are just here to start drama follow a pattern, they attack the messenger, not the meme, use insults, cartoons and circular arguments to distract and always abuse the TOS policy most of the time without penalty. Which I think shows the mods themselves create drama using alts just to use timeouts to punish conservatives.

Since I have been on imgflip I have been accused of stolen valor (I really am a vet), being a cop in Fla, and Alabama (never been in law enforcement, no clue where that came from, being a Chinese, Russian and other bot, being a blacksmith (that was almost true, worked with one years ago) being a 70+ year old man (pretty sure they meant my Uncle but he is not that old, so again I am not really sure where that came from) and a dozen other things. The trolls all seem to fixate and stalk conservatives. The conservatives do not do any of that.

My point is the pattern is as old as imgflip, personal attacks threats to call customers and wreak businesses, insulting users and their families only go in one direction. Conservatives do not do any of that, they hold themselves to a higher standard. People with friends and family in the real world do not need to cause drama to make themselves feel powerful, or live to insult strangers online.

Here is how you find the alts. Find a thread with lots of drama and a high number of responses. Screen shot everything, go back and replace all the names, the mix of initials and letters can confuse AI. Once the names are changed and for example you changed OGMAGA to userone and every other person posting was given the same thing user and a number, userone through userthirty (as an example). It takes time but find and replace makes it go a little faster, the point it to make it easy for whichever AI program you use to follow the thread and to ID the users. Ask the AI to compare the sentence structure, punctuation and all the other metrics you want to know and in less than a minute it usually shows which users are the same person.

I feel like an easy way to check for political alts in particular is to check if someone mostly has stuff in politics because if the alt's owner intends to use it for politics, then there's no reason to use it elsewhere.

When I responded to your question, the same result, trolls show out and try and change the discussion.

None of them are here to engage in actual political discussions. I am not sure when I have last seen them try. On my threads I block them, when they post I just DV it, and move on, my time it too valuable to waste on them and their childish nonsense. If you are looking for honest opinions and attempting to understand the leftist mindset, you are in the wrong place. They will turn on you for even trying.

Just ignores them and doesn't waste his valuable time on them.... But copies entire discussions, changes and jumbles the spellings the names, assigns numbers to them, then puts that through AI to check for similarities in syntax which would indicate they're alts of each other.

And yet still not substantiating his claims by posting it, as he had said he was going to do. Mind you, he literally claimed to have actually hired a team of lawyers to do the same, and he was going to post those results here busting these so-called alts, as well as force to site to get rid of them or his lawyers will shut it down.

You say you block the trolls, but you previously commented you made a chart on who is who - how is that done if you can't see who made the comment when it's blocked? Your contradicting yourself.

He's doing it right now, look at the language. All he does is refer to members in derisive terms, and as you can see in his featured memes, vitriol is all he spews.

The t-word that he's using I can't even use in a generalized way because I will and have gotten a timer for it. I didn't even aim it at any one particular person. And he does it in practically every single comment, even on the streams where only his comrades are allowed.

He complains about timers, but thinks they're only for 24 hours. That means he's barely gotten any, if any at all, ever. I got 1 single timer last year, and 2 the year before, yet I'm still getting them for 48 hours each. The actual one single mod that mods this stream was Far Right ages before Far Right was a thing.
