The left has their own politics stream, kinda like bluesky, because they have trouble getting along with those who disagree with them. I don't know why so many mods are lefties, possibly having more time to devote since they don't work like conservatives do.

Anyone who thinks a restaurant chain and upscale food belong in the same sentence hasn't quite experienced what others would categorize as fine dining. And to say it's not horrible, compared to what, Taco Bell out of the frozen aisle?

Most everything used to be decent, but in the past 20 years everything has gone down hill. I remember way back when Dennys had pretty decent food. Shows how old I am.

That's crazy isn't it. There's a local family owned taco place I order from, 25 mixed tacos for around $45. Feeds me for a week. Top 8 food I've ever had.

I know: I got lunch at a local food truck (and a fun chance to practice my Spanish), and when I opened the bag I realized that it was enough food for lunch AND dinner.

And it was SOOOOO good.

Weirdly bad in a state with so much excellent Mexican food.

That reminds me of one time when this assistant to a dentist I went to was talking to the receptionist while I was waiting about how Domino's Pizza was good. So after listening for a few, I said, "I don't mean to be eavesdropping here but I'm right here, so you're from Italy, was been born there, and you're here on Arthur Avenue, the Little Italy of the Bronx, and you're saying that Domino's Pizza is good?" And they both insisted that it truly actually was.

This was over 20 years ago, and I still haven't tried it.

Ages ago when we used to have relatives staying over as they vacationed in the New York area, two separate times with two different sets of relatives (cousin & spouse) from the two sides of the family, I got to play tour guide as we went to Chinatown.

What did we have for dinner you ask? Well Chinatown in Manhattan happens to abut Little Italy in Manhattan, and both sets of relative literally decided that Chinatown inspires everybody to eat nothing other than spaghetti and meatballs so we went to an Italian restaurant.

Accidentally, the restaurants they had selected were across the street from each other. At least one of them had enough taste to go for the one that went for that old fashioned rustic Italy with the stucco walls look for tourists as opposed to the tacky modern generic restaurant for people with no self-respect other than thinking calling themselves high class actually signifies something.

And this after telling both sets of relatives that if you want spaghetti & meatballs my mother can make it better and cheaper. Let's have Chinese food. Real Chinese food, as opposed to that fake takeout crap.
