Can you add the 10k rule to politics. I feel like there are a lot of alts there for the sole purpose of downvoting democrats. I saw someone get low-rated on two separate occasions for saying "ok"

It doesn't take that many downvotes to low-rate a comment. Having seen it happen late at night when not many members are active indicates that surprisingly less than a handful will do.

There used to be a character a few years ago we called Purgie because he kept posting about purging the US of certain peoples and how he had liberals and minorities buried in his backyard. A formerly active user used to seek him out to report him, and he also commented on his memes, and a couple of us zoomed in on those. We downvoted Purgie's comments and there was only 3, sometimes 4 of us, at least that many of us commenting. Could have been more lurkers, I don't know, but that few of us managed to downvote his comments into lowrated during the quieter hours.

And again, as I've told you in the past, there is one simple counter to lowrated, and that is to upvote comments. Multiple times you have have commented about them getting low rated, when an upvote from you might be enough to counteract that.

You are not going to counteract that with the amount of alts they use

Yes, you are. Depending on how many voted, just 1 might be able to undo it. Even if not, another might come along and add theirs, and voila, it's taking care of.

Regardless, you have nothing to lose by upvoting them. It does far more than simply commenting on them to let somebody know that their comment got lowrated. It's not like you run out of votes if you do.
