Yes, they are.
First off, its an easy-ish job to get with easy pay.
Second, we are a self-loathing people. Mistake that everybody makes is lumping us together as one, when all those countries are separate countries. THAT'S why Democrats are so supportive of illegals. It's not about getting their votes. It's about getting the votes of other Hispanics. They think because we're helping Hispanic illegals and other immigrants out, that their US citizen counterparts here will be appreciative and loyal to the Democratic Party. They don't get that if they wanted to stay with their own kind, they would have stayed back in the countries they came from with their own kind.
And it ain't just Democrats, Reagan granted citizenship to 3 million illegal aliens, mostly Mexican, any flat out stated that he didn't because he just handed the Republican Party 3 million new loyal members. Except he didn't. George W Bush wanted to do the same thing for 10 million illegals, any flat-out stated that he wanted to do it for the exact same reason, 10 million you Republican party members. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the party did not want 10 million Hispanics to become US citizen.
Think the United States of America not being Canada, only with a lot of animosity. We don't even like people from our own countries. First thing we do here when we make it good with money, we buy a house as far away as we can get out in the suburbs where we can't find another fellow Hispanic. You can actually look this up. My parents did it. AOC's parents did it. Only Puerto Rican in town. We consider that stepping up in the world. We let our kids suffer just so we can say that we made it.
That's why so many of us still live in slums, because unlike other ethnic groups, we won't help each other out. Unless we need family to work in our small business and can't afford to hire anybody else.
One of the mystifying questions about the Guatemalan Civil War in the 1980s is that why soldiers, who were not just Guatemalan but mostly of indigenous background as well, killed their own people. 100,000 people dead, 50,000 still missing. They killed their own people. For Chiquita Bananas. An American company. 150,000 of their own fellow people. So that an American company can be assured higher profits.
We are a self-loathing people.
