America has no natives. Everyone immigrated here from Somewhere else. The people they call Native Americans came across the Bering land bridge or possibly boats from the islands of the South Pacific into South America.

A indigenous person would otherwise disagree, and have a different belief. Such as one being they were always here. Like stayed on this part of the pangeia divide, or they came out of the earth and emerged out into what is known today as america, depending on the tribe you get different beliefs. Even as far as beliefs of the creator placing them here. Never the less how much society doesn't care about the sovereign tribes that survived in America, they are still worthy of the treaties they signed which were broken, and are still watching their lands be demolished by corporate monsters, and super toxic industry, along with the poisoning of the ground water by massive mis applications of farming chemicals in the dead of winter, which go unprosecuted on a federal level when a land owner sprays chemicals beyond the federal label recommendations. Companies and foreign governments claiming a stake in the United States before the federally recognized civilized tribes have their stake reinstated. And to top it off the way a tribal government governed America will be the only hope and fail safe left if America's democracy were to falter like the Roman empire.

History is one long battle, some won, some lost, no society was spread with love and cuddles. The first occupants of any land you can name were probably replaced decades ago. More face the same today, the islamic hordes invading Europe and the illegals here, all have the same goals no it or not, replace the people and take their stuff.

Well how many treaties did the U.S break to steal native land(and before you go on about "Natives had no concept of land ownership so they couldn't have it stolen from them" just remember the government gave them land that they legally owned) So if you want to go by that, a lot. A lot of treaties. And many of these treaties were only signed after tribes were forced off their original land and into reserves with horrible conditions.

Trying to downplay the horrors of the genocide of Native Americans(yes it was a genocide, we forced them into what was basically concentration camps, obliterated their food sources, and massacred them at any given chance) is whitewashing American history just because you don't want Little Jimmy to question the morality of what he was taught was a perfect country.

We stole native land, and the least we can do is teach about it.

The natives absolutely had a concept of land ownership. If you entered their lands they dealt with you. They just believed no paper can give that claim. They owned it by force or as the Scots highland tribes called it “right if the sword”.

We re they screwed over on treaties? Absolutely. Am I guilty or modern Americans guilty. No! It’s history, it happened. In the history of man mistreatment of conquered minorities was the norm not the exception. Get over it. I don’t see you crying about the Aztecs migrating to Mexico and enslaving and murdering entire tribes. Subjecting them to human sacrifice in public.
