When the democrats were in control under Biden they passed the extension of the Obama care subsidies, which are expiring by years end. Why didn't they extend them for a longer time? Perhaps it's all politics and not a care for individuals. If they would have won the presidency and the congress they could now extend them. But since they lost they now have a platform to attack the heartless republicans. But who is really heartless here,?

It's optics. They could've extended it in perpetuity, but then they wouldn't have an "emergency" to shove in front of the voters that "urgently" needed solved and only they could "solve it" by pushing it down the road to "be solved" yet again.
