Blue cities are what provide the funding that support the Welfare/Red States. Without them, Red States would just have themselves and thus would be poor throughout, not just in rural areas. Poorer, far poorer, in fact, than they were even during the Depression Era. Somebody had to pay for paving their roads and wiring them up with electricity, and it wasn't those dirt road backwaters.
Like the Red state farmers, who are getting zero exports to China and spiking suicide rates over losing 4th or 5th generation farms. But hey, they voted for Trump, and have slit their own throats because they believed in Taco.
At this stage it is Cultural Marxism designed to gradually destroy all established traditions and sane policies and programs while substituting WOKEism . . . which IS Cultural Marxism.

Actually the opposite. Republican run states like to give their Democrat run cities a tough time about budgeting, policing being one of them. They're severely underfunded, more so than other areas.
