Nice argument... But sometimes evil people must die Another example is found in the book of Deuteronomy and other books that detail the conquest of Canaan. God gives the Israelites instructions to "utterly destroy" certain nations and their cities, including "the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites" (Deuteronomy 20:16-17). The reason given is that these nations had engaged in abominable and wicked practices, and God wanted to prevent their evil from corrupting the Israelites. A notable instance of this is the battle of Jericho, described in the book of Joshua, where the entire city and its inhabitants (except for Rahab and her family) are destroyed after the walls of the city fall. And the city was burning in flames and you were not supposed to look back
