All it takes is one sympathetic Hispanic immigrant to hire the whole freaking caboodle of them. The question is, were they using fake Social Security numbers or were they being paid off the books at a cheaper hourly rate?

Non-Hispanic Koreans were better workers than fatherless welfare kids.

Welfare is getting to be a learned lifestyle. You watch your parents milk the system. That’s what you grow up to do.

Probably a little of both, but I'm still on the side of saying any job that requires physical labor and monotony causes an allergic reaction in Americans. Lawn crews, people working the farm fields, factories, warehouses, they're all being taken over by immigrants whether legal or illegal because Americans are like George Bush Sr. "Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent"

Years ago, a construction worker told me that he was losing his job to illegal Mexican immigrants. He said he could support his family on $9/hr (1989) but the illegals would do the same work for $6/hr.

There perhaps is some generational influence. The older generation worked hard to give their kids things they didn’t have. Those kids grow up, not to appreciate that attitude and are soft. I think that may happen soon with the current generation of immigrants. Their kids will get the education they didn’t have and get “soft” office jobs. The grandkids won’t want to do physical jobs their parents didn’t do.The cycle continues.

That's why that saying bootstraps to bootstraps in three generation holds true the first generation works hard earns the money their kids grow up soft, spoiled and piss it away and then their kids have to work hard to earn what they want there's no doubt that when employers can pay someone who works twice as hard for half the money they will but it's also why I see people like at the car plants in Detroit they make too much for what they do turning screws on an assembly line does not rate 50 to $60 an hour that's of course when they're working because with all the union benefits they get chances are they're taking a personal day or a sick day or a calendar holiday off so there's lots that works into our current problem but I still think one of the biggest Hangups people have with immigrants "taking their jobs" is that they're making us look bad

Every job becomes high demand when you're not receiving enough from the government to NOT take the job.
Paying people to stay at home and then bringing in people to take the jobs -- genius.

That's why even though I believe in a "safety net" I think it should be more like a G-string than a hammock, just barely covering, because hunger is one helluva motivator. When I go to the grocery and I see someone using an EBT card to fill up on chips, cookies, pop, ice cream, I see something wrong with the system and agree with the plan to cut that stuff out, EBT is for food, not snacks, even though I think of any EBT payment 10-15% should be allowed for snacks.
