I die, and the guy who ran me over now has to live their life with the guilt of intentionally committing vehicular manslaughter(I know manslaughter means it was on accident but I couldn't find a better word) oh and they also have to pay a mechanic to fix their flat tires. Or the alternative is they don't run me over and give me a good, non-threatening reason why I should move after I tell them what i am protesting against. I think we can all agree that option #2 is much better for both parties

Depends on what you are protesting for.

I'm not dumb enough to protest global warming by sitting in the middle of the street cause that would just let the engines idle and release more co2 than if they were just driving(I still would protest about that issue but in a more constructive way) If I was going to block a street it would be in protest of a construction project or new road that way blocking traffic actually does something

If it is in a vulnerable habitat. Like I don't want an interstate being built in a wetlands that hosts migratory birds for example

If it is productive to society, and improves people lives, I would value that in general over a habitat. Not always, but often.
