Leaving aside the fact that both the Israeli and US strikes were likely illegal (+ killed hundreds of innocent Iranian civilians), there is no conclusive evidence the strikes even destroyed Iran's nuclear ambitions (assuming they had any).

Even if Fordo was rendered inoperative (+ I'm not sure anyone has verified that yet), it didn't destroy their uranium stockpiles, thousands of scientists, or know-how. Even top US analysts have said it only set them back a few months. And anyway Netanyahu has been saying they're only "weeks away" from the bomb since the 90s. Not sure we can really take what he says seriously. Plus, he's bombed 50K civilians and has been in power 17 years like a dictator. He's wanted for corruption scandals. What better way to deflect from domestic issues than start a new war?

The effects of this will be:

Iran may withdraw from the NPT and refuse any future inspections. (Israel never bothered anyway because it's above the law and the US appeases this. No other country on earth is allowed to have nuclear weapons and keep it secret.)

It will have all the justification they ever needed to actually do all it can to speed up getting a bomb, to avoid getting attacked. (Countries with nukes don't get attacked. Just look what happened when Ukraine gave theirs up.)

On top of obvious things like closing the Strait of Hormuz and disrupting the entire global oil/gas trade.

I think they're holding off from direct attacks on US/UK military bases because they're not actually suicidal as Netanyahu claims. They even warned the US, which is very polite lol. They know they can't possibly take on a nuclear superpower, especially with a nutter like Trump in charge. They have a lot of missiles and a huge army but shitty air power. They could possibly have taken out a US base and caused a lot of casualties. They didn't because of the risk of US retaliation. So they made a lame attack that caused minimal damage, just to make a statement. Because they have to do something. Israel just bombed the hell out of them, killed hundreds of innocent civilians, and assassinated military leaders and scientists, which possibly constitutes war crimes btw. And the US just blew their sites to hell based on flaky evidence.

Now they'll have all the justification they ever needed to dig deeper (literally), and pull out all the stops to get nukes so that next time no one dare mess with them again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe pure uranium actually burns with a reddish-orange flame. The blue glow may be the ignition effect from the bombs themselves interacting with other compounds. It could also be Cherenkov radiation if the bombs actually struck any radioactive material, but I don't think anyone actually knows yet the extent of the damage.

And now we may never know because the Iranian regime is hardly going to cooperate as much after Israel and the US just bombed their facilities to hell and wiped out entire Tehran families in possibly illegal airstrikes. This innocent young girl was apparently killed along with her parents and brother. I'm no international human rights lawyer, but even on a moral level, that's not a good look. What did she do to deserve this fate? She didn't ask to be born in Iran:

I'm not an expert on nuclear engineering or chemistry, btw. So any chemists feel free to chime in. It's possible that the bunker buster bombs did indeed hit some uranium. I wouldn't know. But I heard Iran moved their uranium stockpiles prior to the attacks. And most were apparently at Isfahan anyway. Now they'll presumably bury them in a top-secret location so no one will ever know, and they may well pull out of the NPT and refuse inspections. Good move, Trump. Case closed, right?

Bit like what Israel does with its not-so-secret nuclear programme at Dimona (?). Which is the world's best-kept (not very) secret. God forbid Iran gets nukes, while Israel already has them and has never signed any non-proliferation treaties or allowed inspections like Iran did for years. Totally fine. But if Iran enriches uranium to 60% they deserve to have their scientists and generals assassinated (again, against international law, as far as I know) and innocent civilians bombed to shit in their sleep...

Because we all know we can't trust a crazy Islamic theocracy with nukes, but we CAN trust a warmongering person like Netanyahu to have nukes. Who doesn't threaten regional stability in any way and is guilty of zero crimes against civilians. 50K dead people and mass starvation/famine is a legitimate act of self-defence, right? Makes sense.

And btw, I should add: several dozen innocent Israeli civilians were also killed in Iranian missile strikes. My point still stands for them. In case anyone accuses me of only caring about Iranians/"Muslims" being killed but not Israelis or Jews.

Wrong. It's not about the numbers. Innocent Israelis were also killed by Iranian missiles and it's just as horrific. I find that just as repulsive. War harms civilians who have nothing to do with anything. There are families grieving on both sides.

It's easy for people like Trump or Netanyahu to talk big. They're not riding into battle on a horse and risking their lives like in the old days. Nothing changes for them. Every time they sign a paper or press a button, *innocent people* on all sides suffer or die.

Netanyahu loves to assassinate foreign leaders along with their entire families (again, probably breaking a few international laws, but since when did the Netanyahu govt care about laws?), and Trump can make sick jokes about not assassinating Khamenei just yet. If someone blew up Netanyahu's family in a car bomb or airstrike, like he does all the time to his "enemies", how would he feel? Trump literally narrowly survived an assassination attempt so I'm pretty sure he understands this better than anyone and probably shouldn't make dark jokes about it.

This is not how modern diplomacy is supposed to work. It's barbarism. And our clueless leaders support it.
