You'd be surprised how many of them here already know. I've encountered quite a few who were actually around back then and they're still trying to play it off like the fanfic was the case, and it was just a lump of spending money Obama gave to them. A slight bit of education would tell you that the 1.7 billion IS Iranian asset in us which was frozen after the Islamic revolution, which in turn Obama agreed to return Iran their money and loose some sanctions in exchange for 3.67% enrichment. Those are great questions. What have you done to uncover facts that answer those questions?

I searched for "obama iran pallets of cash" and had answers to all those questions in just a few moments. I had the answers so fast it will take me far far longer to type them out here than it took to find them.

So, 1). Why didn't he do it on his 1st day? Because it was part of the agreement that took almost 2 years to negotiate. He didn't do it on a whim or nefarious reasons- it was part of a negotiated deal that began in 2013 and concluded in July 2015. So, he couldn't have done it on Day One.

2) Why wait until just 3 days before the end of his term? Because that was part of the agreement. The deal was announced in 2015. The cash was returned in the time frame it was agreed upon.

3) Why pallets of cash? 2 very specific reasons. 1) US law prohibits US currency (digital or physical) being used in any transactions with Iran and 2) due to international sanctions, Iran is excluded from the world banking network. Which means they can't accept digital transfers or even physical checks.

So the money we'd frozen had to first be converted into physical currency, then that US currency had to be converted to Swiss and EU currency AND THEN had to be physically delivered to Iran.

Really? We can’t send money any other way? Then why were wire transfers used in other settlements with Iran, such as a $848,000 payment in July 2015 and a $9 million payment in April 2016?
