Dunno about "illegal". It's not like you'll get arrested if you question the mainstream narrative. We're not a police state... yet.
I mean, I'd be in prison in 5 minutes if we were. So Musk isn't quite accurate. We do actually have some freedom of speech still. (And anyway, he bangs on about freedom of speech but he also censors people he doesn't like so he's a bit of a hypocrite, no offence.
And Twitter is haemorrhaging cash like crazy. What a shame. So hopefully it'll go bankrupt and turn to rubble and he'll lose his 40 billion and take a good hard look at his life. (Imagine what you or any sane human could do with... 40 billion dollars? He spent it on Twitter. You could literally stop millions of people from *dying from starvation* or sth, or find the cure for a deadly disease, or protect swathes of rainforest, or buy millions of mosquito nets and save millions of lives from malaria, or fund projects to help homeless people, or God knows what. The opportunities are endless when you're literally the richest.human.on.earth.
He chose to blow half his fortune on some ridiculous site where people insult each other just to fight against wokeism.
Tl;dr: he had the power to stop people literally dying. And he chose to focus on tweets. That's why he's an arsehole. Imagine you have the power to literally stop someone dying of starvation, or massage your ego cos your ex says you should fight back against woke culture? Tough choice. That's why I say he's a sociopath. He could literally stop people dying. He doesn't. Yes, he pays a lot of taxes. I accept that. But if I was the richest person on earth, things would be a bit different round here, I can tell you that. He's a wanker.
If you look at who owns the media (in places like the UK, anyway), it's like 80% rightwing billionaires who run everything. At least in the UK. Obviously it varies a lot depending on where you are.
I do actually agree that the typical legacy "mainstream" media tends to skew left, and that's annoying and cringe. I agree there.
But most of the news in Europe is actually owned by very rightwing people. Maybe the US is different.
So Europe suffers from the opposite problem. Most of the media skews right.
