SCOTUS both giveth & taketh away Roe

Actually if you go back to the original ruling they only said it was legal in Roes case as it was rape, they never gave it a blanket go ahead, the states just assumed.

only interpret whether a law, or the actions under said law,
meets constitutional muster.

SCOTUS was being an Activist when it enacted Roe... then, almost 5 decades later
SCOTUS went back to being itself when it overturned that activism & sent it back to the states.

Technically SCOTUS doesn't have that kind power(constitutional muster) at least not originally.
