Thank you. The problem with DEI initatives is that companies feel obligated to hire people from diverse groups even if those people lack the qualifications to do the job. They're why so many job applications ask about your sex, your race, and in the last few years, your sexual orientation and/or pronouns (especially with new companies or companies aiming to hire a lot of young workers, such as fast food chains). If diverse people are applying but none of them are getting hired, then the company is accused of discrimination. And if no diverse people are applying, the company feels obligated to market their job postings to diverse groups, even if those diverse groups do not have the right skills or personality for the job, and if they're honest, will probably decide not to apply for the job in the first place.
