I saw some people reach the pinnacle of success there and others slip into the depths of self destruction.

I saw the Chili Peppers out on Jones Beach in the second Lollapalooza in '92. They were the last band, after Ministry played. Gosh it was beautiful.

I love it when, on my Youtube suggestions, I'll see a Ministry song come right after a 'Til Tuesday song.

Because they're both intense!

I do associate one Ministry song, Stigmata, with 'Til Tuesday songs because they were from the same era.

We didn't have cable in my house, but I had been in Puerto Rica round then and saw the videos there. So they're lumped together in that memory.

'Til Tuesday may seem a lot more subdued, but a song like Voices Carry has a quiet intensity that smolders and builds. It sucks you in and before you know it, you want to stomp. So kind of like Ministry in that regard, only there's a slow buildup first rather than a blast from the get-go.

Totally!! My main thought when I see those bands together in my suggestions is that the lead singers for them dated each other for a bit, as seen in the video for Voices Carry.

I doubt they dated.

I hate when I search a song there, add it to my likes, and then instead of the song showing up in my feed, some unrelated stuff keeps showing up, over and over again. And it's crap, but it keeps showing up. So weird.

I could be wrong about the dating thing, and I totally agree with that unrelated stuff, it really pisses me off

I had to look them both up.

The DKs played 3 dates at Bond's in Manhattan back in 1980, including a Sunday matinee which young Modda was allowed to go to. That was my first Punk show.
I was into them back in those days, but eventually got sick of Jello's smug and holier-than-thou attitude. Plus the follow-ups weren't as good as the first album (I got the original cover version of Fresh Fruit with the jazz band on the back!)

. I got bored with the whole Hardcore scene by 1985, as near all the bands started sounding the same. From 1982 till then, that and Kate Bush was all I listened to!
