It started with FDR and wage and price controls socialism. White collar workers couldn’t get raises, so they were given “free” health insurance. Which is still a benefit paid by the business to the workers. It’s just an unseen, untaxed form of pay. Later unions and blue collar, and many others started getting it. If medical expenses were still just payer and receiver, they would be more price sensitive. Once again socialist solution create more socialism. Then capitalism tries to deal with the problem. It’s time for capitalist solutions to capitalist problems. DOGE may finally get it done.
