Like all medications, "ten years" is the average time it takes for a formulated and developed vaccine to undergo testing and scrutiny to receive FDA approval for use.

Yet, how many medications have been recalled and had approval rescinded for harming people?

Why do people think that vaccines are immune from such an end? (Pun fully intended).

Supposedly the flu starts out every year in poultry in CHIna, sickening the Chinese people before beginning it's annual jaunt around the world.

There are A and B strains of influenza that vaccines are made to resist.

Based on the prevalent strain in China, the world inoculates against that strain.

However, sometimes the opposite strain will be prevalent in other countries.

You get "immunized" against A but get B.

But China had A, where did B come from? What about the mutations that have occurred? How has influenza not been eradicated? Will this result in "super flus"?

It is snake oil peddled by charlatans to make a dime.

The pharmaceutical companies get extremely wealthy by making you sick enough to need the medicine, and just well enough to stay alive to keep buying the medicine. Your doctor is the drug dealer.for the "Big Pharma" cartel.

Just as a body gets weaker and sicker from a sedentary lifestyles and gorging on processed foods manufactured and distributed to the human "feed lot", so goes the human immune system.

Just one viewpoint to consider.

That’s why I don’t get flu shots either.

The virus is grown in eggs and then rendered inactive. The inactive virus is incorporated in the vaccine. It is a vet old and tested system.

I generally know how vaccines were developed. You're just regurgitating an answer. But that answer doesn't make sense.

The reason we're told the flu keeps going around, year after year, is that it keeps mutating. Even though people build up natural immunity to old strains, it keeps changing, so they get sick again. And again.

But in any case, if the virus is mutating that much, how do people in labs "grow the virus in eggs" and predict how it mutates all over the world/country so that they can come up with a vaccine that ACTUALLY works against the current strain going around?

And the short answer is: they can't.

Track the versions spread and take an educated guess at which to use to make the latest round. As long as the strains are elated enough, you'll get some protection. But thanks for moving that goal post.

You started with one statement about safety and then moved to another about effectiveness. Thus moved the goal post.

So you did and you didn't nice flip flopping. Just saying that I might have misunderstood what you meant without insults would have been enough rather than insulting.

Effectiveness is a sliding scale, a the flu shot will give protection against related strains, even if it isn't as good as the strain it was meant to fight. I also noticed elsewhere you got the definition of vaccine wrong.

First you have to understand that most vaccines are not making you immune in the first place.
Second you must understand that a similar enough vaccine/virus still strengthens your immune system for later infections.

With just these two you should be able to understand the purpose of vaccines. But don´t let people force a medical treatment on you.

If it was an actual vaccine, it would f**king work and grant immunity. See: measles, mumps, polio, malaria, etc. Otherwise, it should not be called that, but something else.

Second point: I think you're just peddling snake oil on that. If this was true, people shouldn't be getting sick from the flu every year, seeing as how a mutated version of it should still be very similar.

But since you are so stern about that it has to grant immunity or else it is not a vaccine, let´s try it with a comparison

A Bullet Proof Vest is not 100% Bullet Proof. If the ammunition is bigger than expected, or specialized to go through it, or just if to many hit the vest constantly than the protective capabilities are not enough to protect you.

At least a bullet proof vest actually does what it is supposed to do. There are very noticeable effects with or without one. And you don't get random complications just from wearing it, like heart failure, blood clots and stroke, or your weener falling off at inopportune times.
