This is false, while there are some problems with the American education system, the US has about a ~95% literacy rate, which is actually pretty high compared to all other countries.

Upvoted your kind correction. However, I got my information from Quora, whom I trust. Check it Out:

Idk, based on what ive seen quora has 50/50 accuracy on most things, I wouldn't really trust it that much, unless the person giving the answer provided a source to go along with it.

Actually, Stalcon, while you might think that the United States is at the forefront of literacy and education, it ranks 125th for literacy rate among all countries. https://journal.imse.com/the-state-of-global-literacy-and-where-the-united-states-stands/#

Thanks for the source, I read the article, it's quite interesting and I agree with some of the points they make. I feel like a good solution to the problem could be to hire better equipped teachers to teach a wide variety of students and also pay them well so more people want to become teachers. Getting parents more involved in their child's literary journey could also be good but some parents don't have the ability to do that so it's better to find solutions in the schools rather than at home.

I don't believe many of the teachers should be in this business. Teaching is not a profession that you take up to become a millionaire. It is a trade like that of a policeman, fireman or nurse. It is for those who have been imbued with a calling. It is for those who want to help young people grow. Is it a great way to make money? No, of course not. I was a teacher. They have many good folks. They have many scumbags who have reached tenure and could care less about a child's growth. Here's one of them...

I think increasing wages would of course attract some people who only want to do it for money, but it creates a wider pool of people to select from, so schools can be more selective and hire someone who actually cares about teaching. The higher wage also causes more passionate people to become teachers but didn't because it wasn't a viable job as they wouldn't get payed enough.

Upvote for you! However, you miss my point. I was High School Band Director. If I didn't love playing music more, I would have continued. There was a time when people cared more to be good at there calling. You know, if you are smart enough to work at what you really enjoy doing, you never will work a day in your life. I do not play music for money. Maybe that's why I've successful. My best to you.

Constantly underfunding the schools is not working. Sending everyone to charter schools so our tax dollars go straight into corporation pockets will make things worse.

Underfunding? We spend more on education per child than any other country. What we get is massive administration costs for people like Weingaten to collect a salary for delivering nothing. More funding would only mean more administrators lining their pockets while kids still don’t learn.

Thank you for fighting the good fight... though there is little hope against brainwashed zombies. Here's a meme in case the children say, "No, you."

Yet there are no test results saying she has a Y chromosome - that's just a claim made by an discredited organization with motive to start shit after being banned from the Olympics last year.
