Schweitzer Identified the Problem, but not the Answer to the Second Coming

Schweitzer Identified the Problem, but not the Answer to the Second Coming | IN 1906, ALBERT SCHWEITZER IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM WITH FUTURISM (THE CHURCH'S LONG POSTPONED -- BUT SOMEHOW STILL IMMINENT -- SECOND COMING), BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE ANSWER: NAMELY, PRETERISM (PROPHECY FULFILLMENT IN A.D. 70), AS SET FORTH BY JAMES STUART RUSSELL IN "THE PAROUSIA" IN 1878 AND 1887. SCHWEITZER, WHO REGARDED JESUS AS DELUDED ABOUT THE SECOND COMING, WROTE IN HIS "QUEST FOR THE HISTORICAL JESUS": “THE WHOLE HISTORY OF [MAINSTREAM] ‘CHRISTIANITY’ DOWN TO THE PRESENT DAY, THAT IS TO SAY, THE REAL INNER HISTORY OF IT, IS BASED ON THE DELAY OF THE PAROUSIA [SECOND COMING], THE [APPARENT] NON-OCCURRENCE OF THE PAROUSIA, THE ABANDONMENT OF [1ST-CENTURY] ESCHATOLOGY, ...THE ‘DE-ESCHATOLOGISING’ OF RELIGION...." | image tagged in albert schweitzer, second coming, futurism, preterism | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I understood everything posted. The problem is Jesus has to be divine to come back. If he made a mistake and was deluded, he was not divine.
Also not all of the prophecies of his 2nd coming have been fulfilled and therefore the points made here are moot.

When someone tries to impress others with '$10 words' all it does is confuse the audience while making the person using the words not as smart as they seem.

$10 words can be so difficult to understand without a dictionary at times.

You're accusing Schweitzer of using $10 words? He deserves better.

This is the face of pychosis these days. Crammed in words trying to make a point but really just leaving us all bewildered at the mental stability of the poster.

Schweitzer's quote is long...sorry if that bewildered you.

Maybe it's not his quote. Maybe it's your presentation of it.

Presented in All Caps IMPACT font where that may be good for short text but not long text. It's hard to read and screams pyschosis. Same as cramming as much text as possible onto a photo completely covering the photo and thinking it's a meme.

All Caps Impact font?
Not that you would do that, amirite?

I'm like one of a handful on his entire site that doesn't use full caps and uses fonts other than impact or for the daring, Ariel for that extra special occasion.

Even rarer when you consider I'm one of the even fewer that uses translucent captions. tbf, I invented that, so yeah, I tend to use it quite a bit.
People hate it too, because they want some big bold white Full Caps Impact caption across the image totally obscuring the visual aspect of a meme.
