I only use Google for Ace Attorney and finding cool loot, otherwise, I do stuff the honorable way.

Then every few individuals (I'd like to think every ten but it's probably more like every 100 individuals) you get someone like me, who will continue to do the exact same thing over and over again until I find a way to brute force the game into progressing or until the game asks me if I want to skip this game play portion. Depending on my temperament for the day, I'll usually decline, but sometimes I accept. When I do decline, I'll keep doing it until it asks if I want to skip a second time, and then - and ONLY then - will I look up a guide.

Game developers need to start making games harder again so that they're Google-proof. For example, if you have to figure out the combination for a locked door, the game save file should randomize that combination so that different people have different combinations. Just a suggestion.

Maybe further in the future, games can have randomly designed mazes to escape from.

That's good to know. Please let me know the names of those games.

Some puzzle games/horror games use the random codes system, just looking through my games escape the backrooms is one that uses it. I don’t have any games that have randomized mazes but that also something some horror games use.

I would like you to know that I beat the Water Temple in OoT without a guide. I mainly use guides to figure out where I need to go, but I was determined to do it without. It actually wasn’t too bad, I did it in 1-3 hours

Before the internet, there was a Nintendo hotline you could call for help on video games. Literally. Any time you needed help, there was a Nintendo employed expert just a phone call away ready to tell you the solution to a puzzle or an enemy’s weakness. Only trouble is, this is during NES times, so they probably weren’t needed much due to the games being so simple
