according to Dan Bongino citing sources in the secret service there were line of sight issues to the target. definitive answer will come out in the investigation

They were ordered to stand down for 26 minutes.

🦅 Orders to hold fire must be obeyed.

Two different circumstances.

My prediction - in light of the fact local police were using the building as a staging area, the Secret Service sniper team will say thought it was local LEO on the roof until shots were fired.

I don't know why they didn't have radio commo available, but what do I know?

No, when they see a guy with a gun, they can fire without orders.

Lmfao. You’re cute. Obama killed our ROE. Yes, you need permission to kill bad guys when liberals are in power.

You failed to understand the context of my comment.

I would advise reading again but why bother - I will explain:

You have "mixed apples and oranges".

#1 - The Secret Service snipers have rules of engagement that allow them to terminate any target they deem a threat without waiting on permission or an order from a superior.

#2 - The Secret Service snipers have a chain of command whose direct orders they must follow.

Two different circumstances.

When a situation arises that a direct order is issued to NOT engage, #2 negates #1.

If given a direct order to hold their fire they must hold their fire until such time they are issued a direct counter order to fire/fire at will.

#2 is then null and #1 is reinstated.

#1 supercedes #2. It's this way specifically for situations like this.

No my innocent friend.

If you are given a direct order to not shoot you cannot shoot.

#1 is nullified by the direct order to hold fire.

Not in this case because #1 is a standing order. When shots are fired you shoot back.

Not if you are given an overriding, superceding, DIRECT ORDER to not shoot without permission.

Why is this proving so difficult to understand?

Compare it to having a standing curfew of midnight but one particular Saturday evening your parents tell you they do not want you going anywhere.

Do you ignore them and go out anyway because you have a standing curfew of midnight?

Because that's not what happened. They were told to "stand down" not "don't shoot"

Tell me what the difference is between being ordered to "hold fire" and "stand down".

If you’re gonna reply to my comment at least actually reply to my comment.

It’s a weak move to keep it separate so I don’t bring up how you of all people have zero credibility to be making any statement on professionalism because you copy pasted 3 opinions without reading them. 2 of which disagreed with your own point and the third was a pedophile defender.

Then when called on it proudly stated you’d cite pedophile defenders as long as it agreed with you.

Snipers on staff at secret service that day did not need authorization/order to shoot.

If they shoot and it turns out to be a minority with a BB gun, they might go to prison. Not shooting … they might lose their job. Yeah, I’d probably hesitate too.

I get your point, given the current anti-cop climate, but that is not what happened on 07-13-24. Mark my words, the truth will come out. Trump was supposed to die and few people were supposed to get thrown under the bus for the "greater good." When the shooting didn't go as planned, certain people are now in unexpected crosshairs of their own.
2 ups, 4mo
Those same people would be in crosshairs even if the shooting went as planned. It was a screwup by the SS and local law enforcement either way. But I’m not buying the conspiracy theory … yet.

2 cm scratch. He could actually cover that with a simple small Band-Aid instead of the big flap that the MAGAtronics are sporting like it was cute.
