With all their overt enthusiasm, surprised they need a draft

Leftists want America to fall — its the only way we can be forced into globalism.

Only a half-truth (i.e., lie). The *talk* going around is of *automatically* registering men for the draft and *possibly* women.

You aren't pointing out any hypocrisy but your own. Clinton (through studying abroad) and Biden (asthma) both "dodged" the draft. It was a point of contention in Clinton's election.

You mean like Joe Biden whom as a college athlete used asthma as his medical excuse to stay out of uniform? Or maybe like Bill Clinton whom simply refused point-blank to go?

It's kind of/sort of funny how people apparently didn't read the forms they had to fill after getting the notice. There were plenty of checkboxes for reasons to not go to Vietnam besides 'objector' or 'health reasons'.

As my older brother and I were approaching Vietnam Era draft age my WWII combat veteran father told us that it was a F-ing political mess and stupid war venture and that if we got maimed or killed over there it would be meaningless. He then told us that he would not condemn us if we elected instead to head to Canada when our inevitable -- because we were blue collar -- draft notices came in.

After some discussion between us my brother and I decided that we would simply obey the draft notice instead and take our chances. I don't condemn anyone for trying to get out of going to Vietnam, but also I think that they should be willing to pay the consequences if they did so illegally.

My dad was smart. He didn't wait for the notice and volunteered. This let him have a somewhat say of what he did over there. . .and for him it fell under 'still can't talk about it' a bit more than 'won't talk about it'.

Yes, my father also volunteered; but his brothers didn't. Everyone still ended up in the military and saw combat. Different time and age.
