Only if you're both in a plane or in space at very high altitude. Can't see 50% of the earth so to see around 45% of the earth, you'd both need to be anywhere between 35k-100k feet in the air depending on what you consider a sunrise/ sunset. You'd need much less if you were less fussy but only seeing a glow each.
