Language is fallible but God is above that. He speaks to each one of us individually, and in a way we each understand individually.
I'm a Child of God first and a human second.
And if you agree that God speaks to His children then you inherently also agree that there is a way to know what sin is, no?

So that first statement is what I said but with a less descriptive wording.

And as for that second statement? God isn't mute.
