If life is precious, what about the 48,000 firearm deaths in 2022? Are those lives precious and worth saving?

You underestimate a rifleman back then, dozens is not a high number to achieve.

And more importantly you americans have a people problem not a gun problem. If you ever got rid of the guns you would just stab and hack each others to death.

You mean like Germany did at barely 50yo and then again 20 yrs later but now stand by and blink while women are sexually assaulted en masse in a public square on New Year's Eve?

Just poisonings and knife attacks and the occasional mad man running around with a machete and then plowing people down with vehicles and the occasional bombings.

But to get right down to it -- again -- the second Amendment is for protection against rogue government. This, of course, is the real reason that the Left's political leadership desire to disarm honest citizens.

No, the 2A is for protection OF the gov't.
It gives adult white males the 'right' to get conscripted upon notice to serve in a militia, and they have to supply their own arms and ammo and be well versed in using them. As volunteers, mind you. Soldiers. Unpaid. BYOGun.

Who is the US Constitution written for? We The People. Who are the Bill of Rights written for? We The People. Who is the government(state) supposed to be made up of? We The People.

The Founders wanted the focus of the country to be on We The People, not We The Government.

The "We" it was written for were Protestant British & Germanic monied male landowners - the new aristocracy.

The nascent USA couldn't even afford to mint its own money, let alone pay for a standing professional army. The Mexican Peso was legal tender in the US till 1857. It's why we have dollars, quarters, and cents instead of pounds and shillings. The US used to be rather poor. Till it stole half of Mexico.

The Second Amendment has two parts, a prefatory clause, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State," and an operative clause, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
The prefatory clause is the why, the operative clause is the how.

Why:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State"
How:
"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed"

Hope this helps!

Germany only allows firearms for hunting purposes, right?
2 ups, 11mo
It is no wonder that you don´t know about the German tradition of Schützenvereine (schooting clubs) in which even children learn how to shoot.

Besides I don´t understand what we on; allow firearms for hunting and sport, makes for you the difference in:
We got weapons and amunition at home. Everyone that wants to get a gun has a legal way to get a gun.
