Except that's NOT what Trump's lawyers said. They said that presidential immunity would legally apply IF the CONGRESS ITSELF authorized the execution. Funny how Trump haters leave out the rest of the story . . . because it interferes with their political narrative.

The truth? The Supreme Court would have to decide IF in that case, presidential AND congressional immunity applied.

During Trump's second impeachment trial, Trump's lawyers argued that the judicial system was the better venue for conviction. Now they flip-flopped, and argue that Congress is the better venue.
