Hamas was created with Zionist Entity assistance - to split the Palestinian resistance - and to prevent the Two State Solution - mandated by the UN Security Council.

Since that time, the Palestinian Authority (PLO) in charge in the West Bank, has been corrupted and neutered, to the point where they are collaborative in the Zionist Genocidal Murders of Palestinians, and the Theft of their lands. So as such, as the only actual resistance forces left, they have become very popular with many sectors of Palestinian society - even those who aren't Islamists or even Muslims.
Can we really blame people, who are living under the boot of Zionist oppression and Apartheid, that they should side with those who fight back against it? Personally, I can't. Nor can Professor Norman Finkelstein. He compares the attacks of October 7th, to a prison break and a slave rebellion. An equally apt comparison is the Warsaw Ghetto uprising against the Nazis. Finkelstein points to the atrocities of Nat Turner's slave rebellion, or John Brown's holy war against slavery. John Brown was considered a hero by many in this country, for decades, certainly til long after the Civil War. The ANC had to fight against Apartheid in South Africa - and the Afrikaaners and Anglo-American-Zionist Empire called THEM "terrorists", too. Your statements clearly lack these kinds of relevant historical perspectives.
That said, at the protests against the Zionist GENOCIDE against the Palestinians, Hamas supporters are in the minority. Most of us just support humanity and human decency, of the sort opposed by Zionism - and so we oppose that too, and for entirely "semitic" - Jewish religious reasons, in some cases.
