That many stories, that old and faced with brick? In LA? You should try visiting LA at least once in your life. LA looks nothing like NYC. San Francisco looks a little more like NYC but not exactly. Besides in SF you'll most likely step in human feces just walking down the sidewalks. It used to be a beautiful city as far as cities go. I lived in the Bay Area my last 3 years in California. Northern California is a whole lot prettier than Southern California.
First. Let me explain something to you. People in California usually don't say "SoCal" or "So. Cal.". They type it because it is shorter. Most people will verbally say Southern California but that is not 100% either. It mostly depends on who you talk to. A lot will say LA or the LA area. Locals speaking to Locals will say what city they're come from, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Whittier, Van Nuys, Pomona, Glendale, etc. To outsiders they'll typically just say LA or the LA area. Even if they live in Orange County they'll say the LA area. Some people will call it just "Cali".
Also the freeways are not "Interstate 10" or "I-5". They're called "the 10", "the 5", "the 210", "the 405", "the 101", etc.
And if you lived there in the 80's and listened to KROQ (the ROQ of the 80's) you might, maybe, possibly, hear someone call Pasadena, "Pa-SAH-de-NAH". Because that's how Jed the Fish used to say it when he was a DJ on the World Famous KROQ. And if you don't know who Jed the Fish is then get an early Oingo Boingo album and look at who they give thanks to. KROQ was once located in Pasadena. I think they moved somewhere else now. And if you don't know who Oingo Boingo were then watch The Simpsons and listen to the theme song or what just about any Tim Burton movie. Danny Elfman wrote the theme for the Simpsons and the music for most of Tim Burton's movies (including the Michael Keaton Batman movies). Danny Elfman was the lead singer and songwriter for Oingo Boingo. He was also the singing voice of Jack Skellington in "A Nightmare Before Christmas", which is also a Tim Burton movie. BTW I was a big Boingo fan back in the 80's. They would always do a concert in the LA area on Halloween and I went to one of their Halloween concerts plus I saw them 4 other times, not on Halloween. They played at the US festival in 1983 and I went to that. It was the last concert that the Clash performed at. After that they broke up.
