Doesn’t China get possession of the infrastructure if the country defaults?
I think some projects also get funded by the country giving mineral rights to China.
And Italy, among other countries, found out the fine print allows China to bring in their own workers, doing nothing to help local unemployment.

Yes they gain control, but their economy is bad and they’re not having babies and they are not working anymore.

China also has a big real estate problem.

Yeah, Evergrande and other Chinese realtors are going bankrupt and the state is not going save them because the spent all the money on B&B initiatives because they thought buying asset and influence were more important. Trump kind of hurt their economy by placing tariffs on Chinese exports and Covid reaction really hurt them.

Manufacturing is moving out. Companies realized how precarious their investments in China truly are.
