Impeachment failed on party lines with some republicans leaning to impeach Trump. The only reason he wasn't was because of the mandatory 2/3 majority senate vote which as we've seen, MAGA republicans are lock step with Trump. He says "Jump" they don't bother asking "how high" they just jump as high as they can and as long as they can. If impeachment succeeded, he would have been indicted.
Well, now he's no longer president. And bipartisan grand juries in multiple states have voted to indict him for a total of four? Five times? With more charges than I care to remember. Also, his own administration staff are testifying against him. People who he hired, people who admired him. But in classic Trump fashion, he denounces them and calls them traitors, and works to discredit them without basis in fact. Trump is now in danger of facing jail time for violating court orders with regard to witness/legal clerk intimidation. He just can't keep his mouth shut. And MAGA is cheering for him. They want him to walk scott-free. Yet on the same coin, they complain about multi-tiered justice.
I'd say all things considered, it turned out horribly. I had hoped he'd be another decent (by comparison to what he actually is) Republican president and we just push through it like every other one. Instead, he turned out to be a blight on our country and was universally laughed at within the UN. He's done irreversable damage to our country, and displayed horrible leadership in a time of crisis - resorting to escalatory tactics during times of civil unrest instead of de-escalatory.
He's a failed leader, and I hate to see it. I also hate seeing that he's on trial for so many crimes because it only further magnifies how much damage he's caused our country.
I'd say Trump is the worst President in recent US history, and I hate that I'm alive for this stain on US history.
