I stopped wearing anything that let people know I had ever been in the military. When people say "thank you for your service" I remind them the military I served is gone.

The left falsely promises 'no personal or societal COST for cradle-to-grave 'security', and within the severe -- and mysteriously -- always GROWING restrictions involved in gaining and maintaining that promise of the ultimate leftist goal of absolute security and safety for life, lurks what perpetually shrinking amount of true freedom that's still allowed for individuals under the authoritarian and restrictive leftist ideological philosophy.

Karl Marx pontificated about religion being the opiate of the masses whereas the promise of safety and security from cradle to grave is the opiate of the Socialistic/Marxist ideology. All that true Republicanism offers in contrast -- as opposed to today's just as poisonous as leftism RINOism -- is the freedom to try and probably fail and then try, try again while at least gaining -- usually -- something truly for yourself through your own efforts. The sometimes not so great quality of freedom rather than leftist cradle to grave security . . . security gained and kept at the expense of everything else of value.

I wouldn't blame people for choosing the illusion and outright lies of cradle to grave security over scary and seemingly dubious value freedom except that history meticulously documents the inevitable down the road result of choosing as a people cradle to grave 'security' over scary freedom. History lays it all out what happens to those people in the end . . . each and every time.
