6/4/2023 New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan this week warned the virulent Ba.2.86 variant is “likely to evade immunity that has developed from vaccination or prior infection,” while a city health official told the Daily Mail it would be a “good idea” to mask up in crowded indoor places over the holiday weekend.

Sounds like it might be on its way back then. I don't really watch the news much but someone I know recently did get covid. Maybe it was that one idk.

But if the deaths remain more or less where they're at or continue the downward trajectory, I think masks are going to be a tough sell.

not really, the people will always follow the same path , some will wear the mask all the time, some will wear the mask most of the time, some will wear the mask rarely, and some will not mask up at all. Leaders need to understand one thing, if they "tell" people to do something , people will do the opposite out of spite. We are not a society big on "orders".

Is saying it's a "good idea" in some situations the same as telling you to do it...?
🤔

plenty of situations and places where people are telling you to "do it". Tin God syndrome infects the minds of people quite easliy. Orders can come from any source, stores, facilities, and most of the time other civilians that think they have some kind of authority over other people because they are following the mandates.

Nobody's told me to do it yet. 🤷‍♂️

Here in Chicago on the south side , where I live, A groups of people attacked a woman and dragged her out of a store for not wearing a mask. Then when the cops showed up, they arrested -her- for causing a -disturbance-. She was draggedout of the store by other shoppers and she was arrested. But, that might just be chicago for you.

I was not able to find anything about the incident you described but I did find plenty of incidents on the other side of the coin.

In any case, I kind of doubt we will go back to mask rules like what we had before.

Not every incident is covered by the news, there are plenty of stories that one would have had to be there to know about. Also these stories are highlighted because they follow a certain agenda. I hope you are right, although I was never really against masks, it doesn't matter to me if they do make a come back or not.

Sure. Everything isn't on the news. But as far as the incident you described I question the context of it. Like... is there footage of the incident? When was it? Did the store have mask rules in place? How similar was it to the Oregon cookie shop incident?

Maybe they are following an agenda, maybe not. I tend to basically think "if it bleeds it leads" as they say.... which seems to be somewhat supported by the fact that the stabbing incident had considerably more articles about it than the rest.

But idk. I guess we'll see.
