The first write-in president. . .NICE!

Absolutely. Last time I voted, there were several state-level seats up that had only the Democrat running unopposed. I wrote-in DJT on each of them.

Hmmm... kinda like how they kept Lincoln off the ballot in 10 states in 1860...
The memes are correct once again- the last time they were this upset WAS when we freed their slaves!

You freed slaves.

How old are you?

What are you a zombie?

An immortal?

And I'm not taking credit for any of the accomplishments of those before me- that would be stolen valor. I'm just saying that we (Union soldiers and Lincoln and my fellow modern Republicans and I) both belong to the same group.

I repeat, okay. I reckon that makes sense.

I was jus teasing you a bit

WDYM, "of course you were"?

Are you just trying to be witty? Because it's not working.

You thought' I was being witty? Yeah, sure, if that suits you.

No, I was trying to play Devil's Advocate and think of a reason that would justify the utterance of such a nonsensical comment.

See what I mean...troll comments.

So sad.

Ignore the troll comments.

Their lives are miserable and they went to subject everyone to their nonsense.

Aww, he disagreed with you, so now he's a baddie too. How sad.

No, I'm referring to the Republican Party as a whole, and my Union lineage in particular. Obviously I didn't free any slaves (just as nobody alive today held slaves or was a slave) but I think it's more consistent to use "we" in referencing the Republicans since I used "they" to refer to the Democrats.
1 up, 1y
Ok. I reckon that makes sense.

The Republican Party didn't free the slaves, the North did.

And you ain't any "we," hence why you spout such claptrap.
0 ups, 1y,

He... wanted to save the Union?

What exactly is wrong with that? It was literally bis job after all. And let's not forget what he STILL DID- issued the EP, and his party passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. Unfortunately he wasn't there to see that because an angry Democrat killed him.

WTF are you talking about? The North was DOMINATED by Republicans, and it was a Republican president that issued the EP, and a Republican Congress that passed the aforementioned Amendments. You lack a basic understanding of American history.

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." -Matthew 7:3-5

You think there's something wrong with that? Ahh, that's right, you lot are the ones calling for a Civil War II, again, along Confedie lines...

The EP EXEMPTED the slave holding Border States, as well as an Confederate territory captured during the war - not that it was enforcable nor ever intended to be.
And again, it was the North that sought liberty for all, be it in th 1860s or 1960s and still now, hence the applied term, "Liberals"

"Lo the sin of hypocrisy for it is hypocrisy from whence all sin doth proceedeth."
- Modda 1:1

When did I call for a Second Civil War? Please, show me EXACTLY where I called for that.
And before you go showing some meme someone else posted about how if there was another CW, you'd get your @$$es handed to you, I will say it's just that. A meme.

And? Simply because it was inconsistent or unenforceable doesn't negate what a massive step forward it was in our history. Also let's not forget the 13th Amendment, which absolutely WAS enforceable. It was the Republicans, who dominated the North during the civil war and the 1950's and -60's (excepting LBJ's landslide, but that was mostly due to the recoil of Kennedy's assassination).

Liberalism, in its true form, is actually a good thing. It reflects the ideas of the Enlightenment- self-government, individual liberty, oh, and that terrifying principle- free enterprise. Most people today are liberals, both Democrats and Republicans. While we may disagree on how those principles are put into place, we can at least agree on the same basic principles. I would even consider myself a conservative liberal. I mean, look at the root word, "liber," Latin for "free." Nowadays, though, the term has been hijacked by LEFTISTS, who are definitely NOT liberal.

Actually that would be Pride.

How ironic.

But here's a REAL verse for you.

"The Pharisee spoke this prayer to himself, ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity – greedy, dishonest, adulterous – or even like this tax collector.
But the tax collector prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’
I tell you, the latter went home justified, not the former; for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” -Luke 18:9-14

tl;dr way of saying so what I said then, but still trying to pull a revionist spin on it.

Thou shalt nots violated today:

Lie,

Bear false witness,

Oh, and don't judge. Jesus might go to a mirror and tell his daddy.
0 ups, 1y
No. And it's spelled "reviSIonist," BTW.

No, no (those are the same thing), and that's NOT a thing.

Also, you still haven't shown me where I called for that Second Civil War.

I'll wait.

Just saw this, as I kinda skimmed though your post before:

"Unfortunately he wasn't there to see that because an angry Democrat killed him."

Unfortunately for web fanfic affecionados, Booth was not a Democrat. But he was active in the Know Nothing Party.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, they disintegrated after losing in the 1850s. It's safe to assume he didn't become a Republican or A Constitutional Unionist (they dissolved after 1860), so while there's no explicit mention of his party in the 1860s, well...

Says the one madly coping and "explaining" how the REPUBLICAN president that signed the EP and whose party passed the 13th Amendment is somehow bad.

And no. He was most definitely sympathetic to the Democrats, if not an outright member of the party.

You've agreed with all the facts I've posted (which, btw, contradicted your original bogus points), but then stepped back with a "yeah, but..." in order to then pretend to retrofit it into some partisan hack propaganda.

You're wasting my time a lot? I'd ask you to make your point and let's call this a wrap except you ain't saying anything and it's been days, so, like, ciao!
0 ups, 1y
No I didn't.

I don't know, am I "wasting your time"? A question mark doesn't go there, bud.

Oh, okay. If you say so. Well, seeing as how you have the driving urge to have the last word, I'll let you have the last word. Because anyone with a basic comprehension of history and English (two things you sadly lack) will be able to read our conversation (if you can even call it that, what with all the nonsense you've spouted so far) and make their own call.

So toodles!

Except I'm doing neither?

I just post facts. Cuts out the excess fluff slinging.
0 ups, 1y
No. you're just coping and rationalizing falsehoods.

If your idea of "facts" is what you've been posting, I'd like to have a word to your history teacher.

That's nice.
So why you doing it though?
0 ups, 1y
Doing what? Making an argument? Because that's what you do in a debate.

Or at least, what you SHOULD do. Unfortunately you never got the memo.

Democrats want to keep Trump off the ballot.

They also wanted to keep Lincoln off the ballot.

They are using the same tactics as before.

I don't know how much simpler I can make that statement. Hopefully you understand.

Actually it's Republicans in some states they hold that are seeking to do so, citing the 14th, sec 3.

As usual, Dems are playing too 'nice' for everyone's good to make the same move.

What word salad was that? You rival Kamala.

Republicans are not trying to remove Trump from the ballot. Maybe there are a few rare exceptions, but the vast majority are not.

Stop lying.

Uh, no. I said there are very rare exceptions to the assertion that Republicans aren't trying to remove Trump from the ballot. They're like pro-life Democrats. They exist, but they are such a tiny faction that they're largely irrelevant.

What's the point? I'm not even looking at your replies, they all concede to the facts but then try to minimize the factuality of them in order to retroffit them into a lie.

Democrats are nothing but Republican Lite, specializing in the Bill 'Don't twist my arm, I'll sign it!' Clinton method. (He's Hilllary's husband, btw). They're No Balls approach is way too fake.
0 ups, 1y
Word salad again. Try to work on your clarity and conciseness.

No. Democrats and Republicans are two different parties. Just because some will often cave to the other (like Mitt "I'm still bitter about 2012" Romney) doesn't mean they're the same party.

But in a way, you are right about the Dems having a "no balls" approach, if you know what I mean. ;)
