It's not the same thing.
You could say something bad about the government, and they persecute you. That's censorship.
Hate speech is when you say something bad about a race for example. There are consequences for hate speech.
The government can change. People cannot change their race. That's the difference.

Oddly enough leftists howling that "It's not the same thing!" has resulted in a two-tier justice system in which ONLY conservative politicians are taken to court for the exact same 'crimes' that leftist politicians have committed.

It happens to me rarely nowadays, but it's always fascinating when it does happen . . . and I never have any idea why. Apparently some people are always told by a mod what they specifically did to receive a 'time-out" but that's never been the case with me.

For what it's worth I did notice that the chances of getting zapped go up dramatically when making comments personal.
