Oh, because you view this demonstrates contradiction in those espousing freedom.
I think that is incorrect view. I see it as them thinking "if you are going to subject children to ideology in school at least make it something that may benefit society."

Forced patriotic ceremony vs. forced homosexuality celebration.
Freedom is making choices for yourself but that doesn't preclude you from exercising respect for others and decorum in public/social settings.
