I typically go with what science, common sense, logic and all of mankind believed about gender since the beginning of mankind and that is there are only 2. I also am not confused about what a woman is.

Genitalia doesn't develop until some time after the 10th week. That doesn't mean the baby is female it just means there is nothing external to know their gender. They start of right after conception with either XX or XY chromosomes.

"I could post the same image about you and say "Oh... look at me. I did the minimum amount of research and didn't look further into how genetics and hormones work" You could and it would be accurate.

I don't spend time studying genetics because it doesn't interest me. All I know is what I remember from college biology.

I like Shapiro but I don't listen to him that often. It more of a personal issue why I don't listen to him. The tone of his voice grates on my nerves. It's not his fault. He can't help the way he sounds. However, I think he is brilliant, probably at the genius level especially for as young as he is.

Shapiro has limited amounts of time when he is at a speaking engagement. That is the only reason why he cannot give people unlimited time. He doesn't have a podcast as far as I know. He has a show on The Daily Wire which is a subscription streaming news and entertainment service. I signed up for it to see what it is about. They were advertising that they had hired Gina Carano after Disney stupidly fired her from the Mandlorian. My wife and I really like her character on that show. I had no idea she was an MMA champion until later. Then she made a conservative political comment in public and the idiots running Disney dumped her. Pablo Pascal, the star of that show, said something against Trump and Disney didn't even say anything to Pascal. I don't care that Pascal said something against Trump. That is his right but to fire Carano for saying something negative about Democrats is idiotic.

Anyway The Daily Wire hired her and put her in a movie. So I got it to watch the movie. The movie was a dud but it wasn't her fault. Then I discovered that Jordan Peterson is on the Daily Wire and he is doing a series on the Old Testament. He started with Genesis as a speaking engagement. When he got to Exodus he hired several guests from different religions to talk about Exodus. Dennis Prager is also on that show offering the Jewish perspective. I like watching shows where everyone on the show are so much smarter than me. They go off on tangents quite a bit and talk about philosophy and psychology but they make it a point to keep politics out of the show.

No, she wasn't fired for making a conservative comment. If that's a conservative comment, you need to own that Conservatives are racist if not the least bit ignorant.

She said that today the experience of being a conservative in the United States to the treatment of Jewish people during the Holocaust. The posts drew widespread criticism for their insensitivity and historical inaccuracy. As f**king well they should have. Because that places the implication that Democrats are putting you on trains, and killing you in the millions. So not only is her position wholly weak, it also minimizes the experience of the Jewish people.

She deserved it. 100%.

No. What she said was that liberals hate Trump as much as the Nazis hated Jews. And she is 100% correct. I've never ever seen this kind of hatred come out of the left with any other president. And that's saying a lot considering the amount of hatred that came out of the left over Reagan and Bush Jr. Everyone hated Bush Sr so I wasn't surprised with what the left said about him.

But with Trump, they even fabricated a scandal and them impeached him for a something he had no part of. And it wasn't just the Dems in office. It was everyone.

There's still Dems just won't let go of the Trump/Russia scandal regardless of how many times it gets debunked. If Hillary Clinton came out and said, "yup, it was me. Me, Biden and Obama. We created the whole thing" they're still Dems who would believe it's true.

But it wasn't just that scandal. They tried to blame COVID on Trump.

They even went all out and instigated a riot on Jan 6th and then called it an insurrection and impeached him again over a riot they created.

Every late night talk show host spent their entire monologues trashing Trump.

There are actually people here on ImgFlip who think Biden is better than Trump. Better at what? Destroying the economy?

The left claims to be the champions of the poor but Biden gets in office and causes the worst inflation since Carter. How's that supposed to help the poor? The unemployment rate has skyrocketed since Biden took office. How's that supposed to help the poor? Trump got the unemployment rate down pretty low. Especially after the Obama nightmare, but Obama compared to Biden actually looks good (and he was awful).

Carano was right. The left hated Trump as much as the Nazis hated to Jews. The only difference is that the doesn't have the power to do anything about it like the Nazis. But they keep trying. They're going to find something to convict him of even if they have to make it up, like the Trump/Russia collusion lie.

Turns out we're both wrong, here's naratum ver batum what she said:

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors... even by children... Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"

So again, she's minimizing what the Jews endured by making this comparison.

Later she even identified as "Beep/bop/boop" to mock Transgender community, when it is known that Disney really supports that demographic. If you're an employee for Disney, I'm pretty sure FL and CA both have at-will employment laws. If your views put damage on the intended audience Disney seeks to gather, they are totally justified in kicking her ass to the curb.

What you say about HIlary could be true, and it could not. I really don't give a shit who did what. All I know is what I saw with my own eyes was unbecoming of a Presidential candidate saying on Live Air "Russia, if you're listening, find those emails." I read the transcripts of his Ukraine call. I know extortion when I see it. Everything that Republicans accused Democrats of doing they had already done. When Democrats got power, they operated within the boundaries and precedents sent forth by the Republicans before them. And Republicans shamelessly point the finger.

Im not saying anyone is innocent. I see two parties doing the same shit every four years. Except one is working to curry favor with the top 1% while shafting everyone else, trying to press their religious ideas onto everyone else with disingenuine politicians who are completely unhinged.

I love how Gym Jordan and his colleagues are wanting to hand out contempt of congress charges like hershey's kisses (hehehehe) when so many of those same people supported MAGA refusing to testify before congress. Anyone who did, they completely disowned, regardless of their history of supporting GOP and Republicans, regardless of whether they were veterans.

So could you just drop the act?

Does not anyone read my meme? Yours is the second comment that I have read so far that says, "well don't celebrated it then". Go back and read the entire meme. I am not celebrating it. Why should I? Why should anyone? Even the LGBT+ people, why should they celebrate it? What's the point?

I am part Irish but I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day. What I would much rather do is go visit Ireland. Seeing Ireland is on my bucket list.

Cinco de Mayo is not a real holiday. It was started by a car dealership in the So. California who was trying to sell cars to California's large Mexican-American population. It was a minor battle that Mexico fought against the French. Mexican never celebrated Cinco de Mayo but I think the celebration might have crept down into Mexico now.

The Fourth of July is important if you are a conservative. If you're a liberal then May 5th is your day. It's Karl Marx's birthday in 1818.

I do celebrate Christmas and Easter but I do not put up signs telling everyone to celebrate Jesus Christ. Jesus is the most influential person on the world that has lived. Without Jesus Christ there would be no United States of America. There would be no belief in the inherent rights of mankind. To Christians, there would be no salvation, no resurrection and no hope for eternity.

There is cause, even for atheists, to celebrate Jesus Christ. If you value your freedom at all (which most liberals don't) then Jesus is the person you should thank for it. He was the one major influence on our founding fathers in their fight for liberty. Instead, atheists despise Jesus Christ and can only see the bad that was done centuries ago by people who claimed to follow Jesus.

Atheists are quick to forget the genocides, misery and suffering committed by atheists in the Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba. Hitler was a pagan but rose to power using socialism and socialism is typically an atheistic governmental system.

Why would anyone celebrate a truck or any other product. You can celebrate accomplishments but why a product unless that product benefits your life in ways that make your life more free or more prosperous. Medical breakthroughs should be celebrated because they can save lives.

Everyone has been persecuted and villainized for thousands of years.

Jews came close to being exterminated.

Native Americans died in the millions, mostly by infection but also by murder.

Irish immigrants that came over to the states after the potato famine were brutalized, many times by other Irish that had been in America for several generations.

Scots were massacred in Scotland by the English after the second Jacobite uprising.

Irish and Scots were shipped to America as slave, not indentured servants.

Christians were fed to lions as sport.

Mormons had an extermination order signed by the Governor of Missouri to get them out of the state of Missouri by any means possible, including murder.

The word slavery comes from Slav or the Slavic people who were slaves.

Mao Tse Tung starved to death 75 million of his own people.

Josef Stalin murdered 25 million of the people of the Soviet Union. He starved to death 1 million Ukrainians. Stalin went after the entire family of the person he believed was opposed to him. Then he went after everyone who know that person.

I just scratch the surface, there are whole civilizations that has been wiped off the face of the earth.

As long as evil exists in the world, then there is going to be this kind of behavior. It is not just limited to homosexuals.

They way it looks like now, at some point in the future, conservatives will be rounded up and sent to re-education/concentration camps, if nothing takes us off the road we are on. There is such a massive media blitz labeling us as "haters", "bigots", "fascists", "homophobic", etc. None of that is true but that blitz keeps moving.

Religiously, you choose to be Jewish. You choose to be Christian. Sounds like Stalin had no agenda against those people based on race, sexual orientation or identity. Just political, if anything. I am sure the Scots probably have some sort of Holiday or day of remembrance in their own country to commemorate Irish Slave trade ended roughly the same time Black Slave trade did. I wonder who was segregated for longer?

You sure did toss spaghetti to the wall there to find as many examples as you could hoping that they'd stick. The difference here is, that people who never identified has heterosexual, were universally condemned by the majority of the world (barring a few cultures) and even their own people.

So, while I get what you're saying, you're operating on a league that's a few levels below the universal hate that they've endured which has historically resulted in chemical castration, death penalty etc. for just existing. They weren't made into slaves, they were put to death - throughout the entirety of time. So, once you can match that with another demographic, I'll listen to your argument again and then weigh those two demographics. But as it stands, in spite of the persecution and pain that those people have endured, it pales into comparison by the pan-historic rejection that these individuals have endured. Only in the last 20 years have they been able to express themselves.

Go they/them.

You missed my point entirely. I should have been more clear in my comment. The point is bad things happen to everyone. That has been the case ever since the beginning.

It doesn't matter if a person is born with a specific feature or not. What I am talking about is there will always be evil people who want to cause harm to anyone for any reason. It is just part of human life. Being gay is just one more thing, in a very long line of things, that some people use as an excuse to be violent against.

The ONLY thing that has slowed down amount of violence against other people has been religion. And of the religions that had had the best effect, it is Christianity and Judaism.

Yes, I am well aware of the Fred Phelps Westboro Baptist idiots and people who think like them but they do not define Christianity. Not by a long shot.

What you need to understand about Christianity is there are commandments against any sexual activity outside of a marriage between and man and a woman. Homosexual activity is one of the things that God has said is a sin. Not homosexual attraction, just the acting on that attraction when it comes to sexuality. This does not mean that God hates gay people because His commandments to abstain from sexual activity applies just as much to straight people. It is the overall picture.

God does not hate any of his children and that means you, me and everyone else. But if you want to find happiness for eternity then there are things you need to do and first and foremost is to love God and to love your neighbor as your self.

There are many more Christians who believe that and try to make that a part of their lives then those handful of narcissist who do not. But it is never the good Christians who get the attention. It has become extremely popular these days to accuse Christians of causing everything bad in society.

If you watch any movie or TV show today, the bad guy will give some indication that they are religious, specifically Christian. There are never ever any Christians who are held in a positive light with the exception of one TV show, Blue Bloods.

I don't think I have run into a Christian liberal on ImgFlip yet. They are all atheist and the all point out the bad things some Christians have done. They never take into consideration that it is always a very small minority of Christians or that it was done centuries ago by people who used Christianity as a tool to get power and control and had no interest in Jesus' message.

For starters on running into a "Christian Liberal" You won't find one. At least, not one who thinks like you. There are Christian Liberals though, there's plenty of them. Part of another problem is you applied a very wide brush of "Atheism" to the entirety of that political-ideological demographic. This prevents you from seeing further than what you've already concluded. This is how confirmation bias works. This whole entire paragraph.

No movies with Christian Good guys? You said "any" so I take you for your word at that as you same so carefully spoken. Imma name a few of my favorite Christian Protagonist movies/shows:
Exorcist
MLK
Messiah
Les Miserables (loved the bishop in that one and Val Jean, great christians)
Then there was that smut fest by Mel Gibson when I was a teenager "Passion of the Christ." Which was just atrocious.

I could go on with more of my faves, but they're here. THere's plenty of them. It's just not as noticeable because it doesn't disagree with you. So you forget what you find normal.

That being said, the issue is, there are too many people who represent the "bad minority" who bring out the worst - the evangelicals who take up a fair portion of the GOP vote. There's one church that vowed on camera to do what they could to cross the boundary of church and state. I don't give a damn on whatever justification anyone has for doing that, because I know for damned sure it's not about religious freedom. It's about religious fascism. You know why? Because if a Temple of Satan member got elected into office, GOP would have a literal meltdown and they haven't even read the tenets of the Satanic Temple. Hell, Ilhan Omar has enough problems for being Muslim which is an abrahamic religion anyway. You don't want religion of freedom, you want Christian Freedom... from what? Being asked to pray in silence like every other religion?

I won't even get started on where my religious stance is. I promise you it's not atheist, but it is certainly not inline with the religious institution of Christianity that you would recognize.

I was talking exclusively about liberals that I have encountered on ImgFlip. I know there are liberal Christians. It makes no sense, seeing that liberalism is diametrically opposed to Christianity and liberty.

If you go back 60+ years you can find lots of pro-Christian movies. But you'd be very hard pressed to find one that was made by a major studio.

I never saw the Exorcist or the Passion of Christ. Mel Gibson is Catholic but from what I understand he is part of an offshoot of Catholicism.

But if you stuck to the last 30 or 40 years I'll bet you find that for every positive Christian movie there are thousands that are negative. It has become such a common movie trope for a character to ask another character if they believe in God and other one invariably says no. In the very rare cases where the actor says yes, he is lampooned throughout the rest of the movie or he becomes the screw that almost gets everyone killed and usually he gets killed off. Then the atheists mocks him by asking, "where's your God now?"

The other excruciatingly common trope is the bad shows up quoting scripture or on some cases he is wearing some type of religious clothing (ever real or imaginary). And he's always is the most evil person in the show.

It happens all-the-time.

There have been movies made where the protagonist was a Christian in the original fictional story or it will be a true story and Hollywood will either remove any references to the protagonists religion.

There is one movie that either is at the theater now or it was. The Jesus Revolution. I don't think it was produced by a major studio. It might have come from Angel Studios who have made a huge name for themselves with the very successful TV series, The Chosen. It is an excellent series about the life of Jesus. It's not a documentary, it's acted.

Some Evangelicals are the kind who like to tell you that you are going to hell, while the majority of them are great people. I used to be very wary around Evangelicals because I had too many bad experiences when they found out what religion I am. But those days seemed to have gone.

Don't get me started on that whole church and state thing. Jefferson never once meant that to be exclusionary. The wall was to separate the government from interfering with the people. The church is on the side of the wall with the people. The church is free to exercise their beliefs however they want and the government has no right to interfere.
0 ups, 1y,
2 replies
The separation is to prevent Christian Laws in a country that practices religious freedom from being imposed on others and conflicting with their religion. As such, because the separation of church and state *does* exist. The church (at large) does not have to pay taxes. That's the compromise. If the church wants to start paying taxes, I welcome them to the political stage. Until then, they need to stay out.

Now, I'd like to share some things I've seen which are pretty good and reflect how I see Christianity and what it should be. As I said, it probably won't align with what you think is Christian...
0 ups, 1y
"How have Christian rights been violated for the last sixty years?"

Christians and Jews have to voice in the political process, either individually or as a group. However, Islam does have a voice.

Christians and Jews were prevented from attending services during the pandemic, yet Walmart stayed open, prompting one Christian group to hold services in a Walmart.

A kid in San Diego was expelled from school just because he brought a Bible with him.

Christian bakers were targeted and force to bake a cake for a gay wedding. Liberal gays see this as a victory because they don't understand freedom. If any business does not provide the service you require, the solution is to not to use the courts to put them out of business in retribution. The solution is to find another business that will provide what you need.

"How is Christianity based on freedom of the individual when theirs is a fatalist religion in which God has a divine plan? Of course, I ask these questions academically."

Not all Christians are fatalists. I'm not, the religion I belong to is not. It think it is mostly the Catholic who are fatalists, but I could be wrong.

"When you say regulatory agencies, do you mean regulatory agencies that protect the environment? The people (e.g. food safety regulation, consumer good regulation, FDA, ATF, etc?)"

YES!!!!!! The EPA has done an exceptionally poor job of protecting the environment.

Get rid of them all. They serve no purpose other than as a back door for getting laws passed without having to go through our elected representatives. This is a representative government that is supposed to bow to the will of the people, not the other way around. If the people want environmental laws to be passed then they should petition their representatives. That is the only way any of that should ever happen.

When the unelected make laws then we live in tyranny.

What's a Christian law? Is thou shall not kill a Christian law? Is thou shall not steal a Christian law?

I know what you getting at. People in this country need to realize that the ultimate goal of the Constitution was to put all political power in the hands of the individual. That means if there is a town that is 51% Catholic and they want to pass a city ordinance to erect a statue of Mary in front of city hall, they have that freedom. Or rather, they used to have that freedom. And if you were Baptist and you opposed then you only have the right to petition the government. You do not have the right to impose your will on the majority.

If that same town is 51% Satanist they have the freedom to erect a statue of Satan.

If a state wants to keep the blue laws from the early says and they have the votes to do so then you're just gonna have to drive to a different state to buy alcohol on Sunday.

However, what the federal, state, county or city cannot do is pass a law that violates someone's Constitutional rights. They can, but should not, pass laws that are unenforceable. That's just a waste of time.

So, for example, no one should ever pass an anti-sodomy law. There's no way to enforce it. Also, not listed as an enumeral right, it can be argued that a person has a right to engage in any type of sexual activity in the privacy of their own home. As long as that activity does not cause physical and/or emotional harm to some else.

There have been laws like that in various places around the country but there is just no way to enforce it without violating the 4th amendment.

I've said this before, we have far too many laws and regulations imposed on us already. We need to start dumping those laws in droves. We need to dump all regulatory agencies immediately.

Is that Christian enough for you? What most people fail to understand is that our founding fathers gave us the freest nation to have ever existed AND they were all devout Christians. Christianity is based on freedom of the individual to live their life as they choose. What we need to do is teach to all people, Christian and non-Christian. There are a lot of Christians who need to know and understand this so that they understand that they cannot support laws that violates the Constitution.

The separation of church and state argument is used to violate the rights of Christians and Jews. That's all it has been about in the last 60 years. Those words do not appear in the Constitution.

In the Bible, fear means respect. That bugged me for a long time until I researched it. It's not a mistranslation, just a misunderstanding. Words over the centuries can change their meanings. Sometimes words had more than one meaning but the less used meaning was lost over the centuries. Other times words will pick new additional meaning. Other times words will completely change it's meanings.

For example anyone named Richard can not longer go by one of the nicknames for Richard. Gay used to mean happy. For a short time around the turn of the last century it meant a loose woman or prostitute. Now it exclusively means homosexual.

I believe fear is one of the words that lost one of its additional meanings, that of respect.

God asks us to love Him. How can you love what you fear? This image you posted shows a person who read fear and dumped the entire Bible before researching what was meant by fear.
0 ups, 1y
That's a very valid point. I would need to see what "respect" meant for the time in which fear was used in this context. What did respect mean? What did it entail? Surely, as you suggest, respect now is different than respect from then.

The person brings up a lot of other valid points as well, and it's true that you can't go very far before running into something that is wholly inconsistent with the rest of the Bible. It's true that you need to understand the interpretation. But if the relationship between God and the individual is so personal, are people not letting others interpret the bible for them? Once again, adding in a place for Satan to work his schemes.

If the Bible is the medium in which one reaches God, should it not then be that your interpretation is the message God is sending you? Provided of course, that you act with good faith?

I do ignore it as much as I can. But it's everywhere. Kind of hard to ignore.

Support gay people??? In what. Just because they're attracted to their own gender? What's to support about that. I don't ask you to support my heterosexuality. I don't see why you would need to. I'm okay with being heterosexual. Are you okay with being homosexual? If you are then you don't need my support. Even if you aren't okay with being heterosexual, you still don't need anything from me.
3 ups, 1y,

I only talked about support because you mentioned it.

BTW do not confuse my lack of support with hate. I don't hate anyone. To hate someone you have to know them first. I've lived around gay people and I've worked with gay people. I even shared an office with a gay man. I never hated any of them. I treated them with the same respect I treat all people.

My entire thought process is why am I being told to celebrate something that people are born with. It's not like gay people have go through some sort of test of gay skills before they can be considered gay. It's not an achievement, it just something you're born with. I have blue eyes, it's not an accomplishment, it just what I was born with. I don't ask people go celebrate my blue eyes.

There are all sorts of unenforceable laws on the books. We need to get rid of a ton more laws than just the unenforceable ones. We have laws to protect our rights. After that we do not need any more laws. I think congress should be required to repeal 10 laws before they are allowed to pass any new laws.

Laws these days just hamper our freedom, like the Texas law you mentioned. Although the Texas law was enforceable. They would have to violate your 4th amendment rights to enforce it. If you were having sex in public then they could enforce that law and a whole bunch of other laws that would apply to heterosexuals having sex in public.

Gay marriage was handled completely wrong. The government should get completely out of the marriage business. Marriage is a religious contract between God, a man and a woman. God sets the terms not man. The government is the last place I need to swear my love for my wife. That should only be done at a church, synagogue, temple, whatever.

And if you're worried about a church not performing a gay wedding then go to another church. There's lots of them that will perform gay marriages.
