Then he swirched parties in 1964.
Gee, wonder why?

Why did Sen. Thurmond switch parties? That is a good question. He was the only Democrat that I know of to switch parties. Southern states were dominated by the Democratic Party until maybe around 2000. Sen. Thurmond claimed it was because he wanted to support Barry Goldwater and something vague about states' rights. I really don't know why he switched. maybe you can enlighten me.

Modda, you really don't like history, do you? Too complicated. Non-binary. Analog ideas are just too confusing. It's better to stick to the Party line so you don't have to think. "Two legs bad. Four legs good."

It's your meme, if you can't abide by its own criticism (you DID look at it after HQ gave it to you to post, yes?), then that's on you, innit?

Please put down the bong before you post. I have no idea what you are trying to say.

Are you always this confused by your own memes?

Democrats did not support civil rights as they claim. That is what my meme is about. Republicans were more likely to support civil rights than Democrats in the 50s and 60s.

Now you're just blatantly lying - for 'satiric' purposes, no doubt *winks in sarcasm*

This bs partisan hack propaganda begins to bore me a lot?

But you just hang on to ol' pre-GOPer Stromy, the entirety of history hangs solely on him c.1957.....

I posted facts. You can do your own research. Real history sucks when you were taught to believe lies. By the way, I am not a Republican. I don't like Republicans any more than I like Democrats. Both Parties are beyond redemption.

Of course you're not. Most who try to pass themselves off as Republicans here aren't, as you have to be a US citizen to register as that, and the reason why most of them can't recall the name of their state they live in is because they don't live in one. Then there's the middle school set as well.

The anonymity this site affords allows those who can't get away with it as easily on sites like FB to congregate here. No need to explain to mummzy why Geoff is talking like he voted for Trump the year before he voted for Brexit.

But, then again, that's what scripts are for, innit?

I thought Conservatives were the conspiracy theory nuts.

Both the Republicans and the Democrats changed in many ways for many different reasons over the years. Binary thinking just doesn't apply. Sorry it's so complicated. Maybe you should avoid history altogether.
