The GOP's greatest weakness is the most popular candidate shapes the party. Whereas the Dem's greatest strength is the party shapes all candidates. That is why Dems could run Hitler, Mother Teresa, a corner crack dealer, an NBA player, a pop star, or a tranny tiktok star for president if they wanted. There is no difference in the outcome, because the party's goals are the candidate's only goals. The GOP does not have that luxury. If a weirdo GOP candidate wins the Primary, then the entire party has to reinvent itself to match that candidate's viewpoints. That isn't going to work. The GOP needs to set realistic goals that every candidate will follow. Or that candidate does not run. This wishy-washy, infinitely flexible approach makes the GOP look weak. And its too easy to find embarassing dirt on GOP candidates, or for candidates to put their foot in their mouth, and the Dems win by default......
