Because if he HAD followed Trump's plan then the Taliban would not have been re-armed and handed the Afghanistan nation. Only Dem Party voters pretend otherwise . . . but then again what else can one expect from people whom knowingly claim to have voted for a dementia president.

He would certainly not have left all that equipment behind, that's for sure.
3 ups, 3y
Indeed.

Trump would have executed a designed withdrawal; not run like a bitch and leave an army's worth of equipment behind to award the enemy.

Because anyone with a lick of sense already knows that.

MAGA country on the other hand?

Well...

Gasp! You mean Trump INTENDED to totally re-arm the Taliban with our own cutting edge weaponry while GIVING them the nation of Afghanistan; and SAINT Joe Biden's senility was just so advanced that he went ahead with the plan anyway? Nice!
2 ups, 3y
Yeah. Here's the agreement: https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Agreement-For-Bringing-Peace-to-Afghanistan-02.29.20.pdf

Trump's timeline was for May. Biden said that was unreachable and pushed it back to September.

So in his first few days of office, he reversed everything Trump did, and put his own plans and executive orders in place, for everything BUT the Afghanistan withdrawal?

Is that what you somehow want people to believe?

Here's the thing about facts: they don't require your belief.

Here's the agreement Trump signed with the Taliban: https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Agreement-For-Bringing-Peace-to-Afghanistan-02.29.20.pdf

I don't expect that you'll read that document but here's the key part: it sets the terms for a U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan by May 1, 2021.

That was Trump's timeline.

Being President means that you're often bound by the agreements of your predecessors. You have to carry them out so other countries will feel secure in dealing with the US. They have to know that the agreements they sign will be carried out despite the regular change in leadership.

Biden said May was unreachable and pushed it back to September.

Trump even bragged about starting the process in June 26, 2021.

Your boi set an impossible goal and didn't have a plan to get everything out. We know that because 1) the same people were at the pentagon and would have said 'we can do this, here's the plan' (remember, only the highest leadership changes. All the staff remain the same). and 2) Trump for sure would have bragged about the details of his plan and how he would have done it.

But he's never done that.

Does it seem likely to you that Trump would fail to brag about something he'd had a plan for? Does he seem like that kind of guy?

And Biden agreed that the US needed to get out of Afghanistan. Why would he not use a plan that would work? Even pushing back the date, why not use the same "amazing plan"?

That's the same excuse the Dem Party used for Barack Obama's botched turnover of Iraq. It was a leftist generated B.S. excuse for rank incompetence of their Commander-in-Chief back then and it's the same leftist generated B.S. excuse for rank incompetence of their Commander-in-Chief today. Try putting in a leftist president with a backbone.

All either Barack or the Left's current Dementia president had to say was that the current situation is different and therefore the 'DEAL' is being altered . . . just like ANY genuine C-in-C has the command authority and duty . . . to do.

Maga is a boon to Democrats. It’s the only way they can win. Because the silent majority know Maga is worse than the Democrat option.

Well, I have those things. But I believe that the battle for the soul of our country lies in our commitment to truth and reason rather than waiting for the day we inevitably tear ourselves apart.

There are far too many countries that are salivating over that outcome and desire for it so that we leave ourselves vulnerable to either their influence or their military.

There are far too many of us that continue to erroneously believe that our salvation lies in a single person or a political party, rather than our personal responsibility to ourselves and the commitment to freedom. If we continue to support curtailing these freedoms under the false flag or righteousness or superiority, then our rift will continue to open. Our poverty will sour, our economies will fall. There is nothing wrong with competition but this is no longer about proving ourselves but believing there is only one way to live here. One way to think. One way to vote. If we continue to see ourselves as the enemy rather than a variety of people with a variety of goals each seeking a common good, then United States is as doomed as you say it is.

personal responsibility
Our poverty will sour
United States is as doomed
I agree w/ much of what you say but
we are on the road to perdition, sadly,
the great flush is already in progress.

If the Afghan soldiers couldn't keep their /our democratic insurrection going after nearly 20 years of US help and weapons I have serious doubts another 20 years and whatever other US presidents would've made any difference.

As far as the equipment... how much does it cost our military to ship one military vehicle back? How much longer would it have taken? How many American soldiers would've had to stay there for that? How many more would've died? The right howled and howled over the 13 who died trying to protect the airport as it was.... How many more US soldier's lives would it have been worth to bring that stuff back?

Ah yes... Russia.
They also fought in Afghanistan and when they too decided to call it quits, it took them years to pack up their weapons, equipment, vehicles etc and leave. If it would've taken us even half as long as Russia to bring sh*t back, I'm not sure it would've been cost effective.
