The real issue is you can't know who is going to go insane and do something stupid. The answer is promoting good mental health. They won't do that though.

Which brings you to back to violent media (music/games/movies), more tolerance of relativism, more substance abuse, etc doesn't it? YourMotherandYourDad points out that some things increase likelihood of certain outcomes. No Im not blaming video games, but to your point what is good mental health and how do you promote it? What has changed since the time when this wasn't a worry?

the scapegoating never really ends

It picks something thats just close enough that the criminals interact with but just far enough that we don't have to be introspective as to their responsibility for their actions.

because shooting gets the job done easier. Before guns, arrows and javelins were used. Before that,, rocks and stones were used. Guns didn't invent crime, evil humans did. And there are always evil humans

But thats like saying all militaries should discontinue bombs bc it gets the job done easier. If all good countries were to do this, all the evil ones would take over. Same with guns. Ban them, and all the decent people with guns won't be able to defend themselves when criminals use them. And don't believe for a second that any criminal is just gonna fork their gun over to the government just because guns are illegal. Killing is illegal and that doesn't stop them. 

The other problem is that if guns are all in the hands of the government, oppressive governments are easier to run bc the people have little means of self defense. This makes dictatorship easier to achieve. This is why any politician advocating for gun control is very suspicious.

i’m saying that to suggest that when crime happens, guns are the problem, is like to suggest when wars happen, bombs and weapons are the problem, instead of the leaders who instigated the wars. i’m not equating the two at all.

You would need to live under a rock, to not know, the historic weapon of choice, with high body counts attributed to the weapons used, were nearly exclusively done with AR-15 style, semi-auto, long guns with high capacity rounds. Problem is, you know that, like everyone else.

Yes, that’s true, but sometimes in the US if we let people with mental illnesses and no background checks buy guns then we run a higher risks of gun violence. Also I don’t get why you put a Bible reference in there.

But yet murderers, shooters and other weirdos manage to get them. Are the old ways really that much better? If a child is hurting another child with a rock, and you take the child away from the rock, what if another child comes around and starts doing the same thing? You take the rock away.

They can also seem just fine until they run over a crowd with their car- Do you want to take away everyone's vehicles? How about taking away all personal tools because they could be used to make weapons, or even as weapons themselves?

It's all you hear about, because that's all the press talks about. The national media pointedly ignores the thousands of stories of law abiding citizens defending themselves with firearms every year. And frankly, you're more likely to die on the highway in an auto accident than being shot.

Actually, automobiles are more of a threat to you if you are of school age due to the fact that teenage and young twenty-something drivers are statistically speaking the most careless, dangerous, risk taking drivers on the road. That's why insurance rates are so high for them.

Straw purchases are illegal. Please define this "Gun Show Loophole" I keep hearing about. If you try to purchase a gun from a dealer at a show, you will have to fill out and pass a background check to make the purchase, PERIOD. The phrase "Gun Show Loophole" is just a term the Liberal Left has used to stir up emotion: it is meaningless.
