Time for them to go. I guess a couple were retiring and wanted a big payout. The others must be removed starting Mitch the Democrats Bitch

You guys are making a big mistake sewing division like this. The dems will almost certainly win next year if we continue to demonize our fellow republicans like this.

They'll win next year because they rig the elections. Nothing we do will change that except jailing those responsibile for the rigging last time. You don't get it, they stole all the swing states, it's pretty much over for the US now.

exactly. When the invasion started I was hoping for it to also be a force that for once united Republicans and Democrats. I now see that, in a way, we *needed* the invasion to happen, as horrible as it is. It seems clear to me that before the invasion we were at the brink of tearing ourselves apart, as this considerable anti-Ukraine movement within the party is suggesting.

have you considered that you yourself may be the real traitor?

No. Being a traitor requires betraying someone.

you betrayed the west and everything the states once stood for by refusing your role in putting up a fight one more time against a resurgent Russia.

Lol no. First off Russia is no longer communist. They are no longer totalitarian. They are still our enemy because they haven't joined all the peace deals.

"no longer totalitarian"
Pretty sure Putin was literally named leader for life. Putting all your power into a single figure for the rest of their life sounds like a huge stepping stone into totalitarianism. But even then, you admit they are "still our enemy"- something I was willing to forget before the invasion of Ukraine.

Lastly, we as the United States is- or was, the world's sole superpower. Under our leadership Democracy won out across the entirety of the West. The Soviets would crack under attempts of democratic reforms, and even China, perhaps our greatest rival now, struggles today. But all of that will mean nothing if we can't pull ourselves together and rally behind democracy. Ukraine may not be the most pure and uncorrupt democracy but they still manage to put up a democracy, something Russia can no longer say. It is our country's very duty to defend democracy from it's adversaries- the very reason it became a viable superpower, and if that means pumping more money and equipment into an embattled Ukraine then so be it.

Ukraine was a puppet state to the US. Most of the Ukraine leaders had dual Ukraine US citizenships and routinely visited DC. The eastern half of Ukraine voted to rejoin Russia. The western half voted not to. Russia didn't invade until Ukraine talked about joining NATO and started putting missiles on their border. Something Russia said they would invade over.
I don't like it, nor do I agree with it, but its a facepalm moment when they do it and then act surprised Russia invades.
The money we pump into Ukraine just gets laundered back to our politicians, the part that actually stays there and buys weapons only prolongs the conflict. Eventually Russia will send in their troops full force and roll over the entire country. All we are doing is prolonging suffering.

-The eastern half of Ukraine voted to rejoin Russia. The western half voted not to

I don't think a 99% "yes" exclusively in occupied territories from a vote held by the invaders is a reliable source. We're conservatives, I'm surprised you're not shouting "fake news" given how little those votes have to stand on. If you mean the Donetsk/Luhansk regions, Russia's current invasions has gone far beyond those two provinces, and has tried to permanently occupy far more.

-Russia didn't invade until Ukraine talked about joining NATO and started putting missiles on their border.

And Ukraine wasn't talking about joining NATO until Russian troops started lining the border. If your only two choices are to seek alliance or to be rolled over by a larger nation's army, there is no choice.

-the part that actually stays there and buys weapons only prolongs the conflict. Eventually Russia will send in their troops full force and roll over the entire country. All we are doing is prolonging suffering.

Russia's already conscripting. They already *used* their full force. It didn't work. Besides, the notion that we should just leave because the war will take time is just laughable. We lost Vietnam and Afghanistan not because of military defeat but because we merely grew tired, and now those two wars are the laughing stock of the entire nation. And even then, it looks seriously bad on us to pivot and simply abandon another country almost immediately after pulling ourselves together behind them for once.

No sorry. Russia didn't use their full force. They used their voluntary reserve forces. They are gearing up for world war now because nobody is backing down.
