Conservatives believe that progress depends on the free choice of each one and not in impositions.

They believe that freedom is what produces progress, and progress does not need to be imposed.

This is true. One of the long term complaints the South had against the North was that the North moved toward industrialization while being against slavery. The rich South plantation and slave owners were against industrialization and for slavery.

Translation - the more restrictions against people's freedoms the less industry, manufacturing, and innovation there is including scientific discovery and innovation.

*Real* science doesn’t need to be believed in. In fact, blind faith completely shuts doen real science.

The problem is we have used the same term for biological and social designations (which are two separate things) that many have trouble differentiating the two. Socially, you are male, but biologically you are female. Your social designation can change, but your biological one is immutable.
