If they actually cared they would be pushing nuclear power. One or two reactors in a given area are strong enough to heat people houses in the worst of Winter, power EVs, and have plenty of power left over.
If anyone is serious about clean energy, the nuclear is the cleanest energy source we have. But the corrupt politicians don't get paid from nuclear power so that's why they don't talk about it.
