"Felony grand theft up to 10 years."
Bruh. They took the wrong bag. lol.
It's just not comparable to an attempt to overthrow the U.S. Government. And, again: it's a charge, not a conviction. There is the possibility of a benign explanation. Whatever happened here, this seems like a case that will be dismissed or pled out. Not one that will result in high-profile trials and multiyear convictions like some of the Jan. 6 defendants (the "Mar-a-Lago martyrs" OP meme complains of).

This person is the "Deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy."
Biden admin official? More like "minor Biden admin official." "Minor minor," even. No one's ever heard of this person before, and no one ever will again. By the way, the next election is, at this point, 2 years away - a dubious news item like this won't be a decision-point for anyone. Political import: Minor.
On the other hand, in the much shorter term, stories that exploit LGBTQphobia fuel the risk of homophobic/transphobic hate crimes, like we saw all too recently in Colorado. And indeed, seems like right-wing memers are shoving just as much LGBTQphobia into this story as they possibly can.
Overall? A "close call." In my opinion.
