OM has mastered the art of mocking and harassing others, while avoiding being put in imgflip Timeout™. This leads him or her (I believe nothing he has to say) to believe he is smarter than reality reveals.

Anyone that chooses to be a liberal and/or a Democrat is at serious odds with the universe. That does not strike me as being very smart.

You know there are very disingenuous when they deny the truth like that...

It's really almost kind of sad. Sure, flame wars and whatnot come with Poli, but usually that's only a part, wedged between statements of actual substance or at least trying, and humor oft weaving throughout.
But to see someone day after day spending endless hrs with multiple accounts posting even on the same thread and minutes apart, and spewing nothing but anger, that's just sad to see someone so devoid of joy in their life.

Seriously, why do you bring up old testament stories every time abortion is mentioned? You don't even believe in God, nor the Bible.

Good for you! If any of us common users would have said that then WE would be the ones sent to the corner with a timer.

I seem to recall seeing something in the TOS regarding not discriminating against any sect, but what do I know?

I regard Octavia as a longtime friend here on imgflip. Most of the time he's willing to engage in respectful dialogue when shown respect. I am puzzled though by his trying to prove how terrible a God he doesn't believe in is with a Book he doesn't believe in, for what purpose other than to try to offend Christians. I didn't say anything against TOS. tone is everything and those on timers tend to take it too far and make comments personal attacks.
6 ups, 2y
What also amazes me is how some people that are so much behind and in support of the First Amendment are so intolerant of others' ability to express a religious belief.
6 ups, 2y
(Please read in a happy friendly tone.)

Thanks for the reply - to each his/her own I guess.

Please note for the record that I wasn't saying that you said anything against TOS.

Also note for the record that I never mentioned another user so therefore am not guilty of harassment. (Yes, I've been flagged and timered for that without mentioning a user.)

Keep up the good work.

THAT is discrimination and if someone didn't do it on this comment thread then they've done it repeatedly elsewhere.

I'm not one to call names but he's pretty consistent saying that abortion is somehow justified or Christians are hypocrites for believing in a God he thinks is imaginary as described in a book written thousands of years ago about events that may or may not have happened that he couldn't care less about. I just wonder why since he is all about using only logic and facts.

Well, it is the definition of a bigot ... so...

I don't believe everything in the Bible especially the OT is to be taken literally. I have posed the idea which night be radical to some: what if early humans tried to explain away natural disasters like floods, comets, by saying God did it, like Romans tried to explain through theirgods? What if they tried to justify their own war crimes by saying God told them to do it?

"What if they tried to justify their own war crimes by saying God told them to do it?"

Have you considered the fact that Jesus refers to the Old Testament as the Word of God? Additionally, the apostles point to ALL of Scripture as being worthy of trust.

You are correct in believing that not everything in the OT is to be taken literally. God, through human agents, had His Word written down using many forms of writing, which include poetry, historical narrative, eyewitness accounts, parables, etc. So, for instance, when the Bible speaks of the trees clapping their hands, it is not meant to be taken literally.

If we cannot trust the Old Testament, we cannot trust Jesus. If that is the case, there is zero reason to be a Christian.

"GET IT?"

You have no idea what you are talking about. I have not seen someone confuse so many different passages at one time, from whom the 144,000 actually are, to a prophecy that simply doesn't exist anywhere, but perhaps in movies (son of a jackal).

As I pointed out elsewhere, your sole purpose on this site is to either corrupt others' understanding of the Word of God, or expose them to sexual immorality. Your personal corruption makes you unable to rightly access the Word of God. If I had to guess, I would say you are likely demon possessed, but at the very least, demon influenced.

For the record, Jesus did not come to Earth to eliminate any of the Word of God, which at that point was limited to the OT, but rather He came to fulfill it, because no human being could do it themselves. At the moment a person repents and places their faith in the finished work of His life, death, and resurrection, they are freed from the dictates of the Law.

Jesus commended to NT to be written, and sent His Spirit to work through the apostles to complete it. In it, we find that being freed from the Law does not mean we can live however we want. All but one of the 10 Commandments are reiterated in one form or another, making it clear that the moral code is repeated, and expounded upon.

You will never be able to understand anything of the Scriptures, and wherever you got your teaching from is a tragic joke.

Skip the faux-editorializing in defense of the Beast, and quote it.

The difference was Romans, or at least those in power, were atheist. They adopted any popular deity to appease and or control the masses. Including the new hipster religion, Christianity, after getting nothing but sour grapes from hebrews who had a controlling interest.

Christ actually preached, mostly to hebrews, to not allow governments, especially the Roman Empire, dictate their religion in order to keep it sacred.

Much in the way liberals and moderates today preach the same to keep a separation of church and state.

Because when you advocate religious control for the state, you’re actually also advocating the state eventually corrupting the religion.

Adam and Eve. Noah. That Leviticus thing about men. Have you ever heard Christians refer to anything else in the OT, let alone as true and of relevance to their paganistic lives? Oh, wait, David and Goliath on occasion and, um, Solomon was wise. That's it.

You see, therein lies the difference. God, as the giver of human life, also has right to take it. We do not, whether you believe in God or not. Just because God takes human life sometimes doesn't give you the right to. It's like saying, "One time God flooded the Earth, so it's okay that I blow up all these dikes!"

Some Christians don't take everything in the Bible literally like you an atheist does 😉

If they took it literally, they wouldn’t be atheists.

They would be fundamentalists.
