OMG, Martha's Vinyard has no food, water, or shelter. We better declare a state of emergency and call out the National Guard.

Oh wait, they did, all because 50 illegal aliens arrived on their island.

MV is one of the richest zip codes in the United States and has declared itself a sanctuary city.

Unlike the Texas desert where 53 illegals died inside a tractor-trailer in 103-degree heat.

Why aren't you memeing about that?

Did anyone alert Martha's Vineyard the migrants we're coming so food, shelter, and medical care would be available?

No.

They had to act swiftly to make sure that was provided, AND had to engage a local military post to adequately house them.

Why am I not memeing about the deaths here in Texas?

Because Republicans are the problem here too.

Their "tough on the border" nonsense makes legal immigration harder and take longer. Which causes more people to try to sneak across.

Republicans make the problem worse and offer 0 solutions. Because the problem is more useful to them.

Does anyone notify border security when 1000's of illegals who sneak across the Rio Grand, attack families living there, and rob them?

You're a hypocrite.

If you've heard about it, then yes.

And just so we're clear- you think Texans who live near the border don't have plentiful access to guns?

You think they're just wilting flowers waiting to die?

That makes sense to you?

When you say things like that out loud, you legitimately think those things happen?

If you'd like to read what actually happens at the border by a Texas publication, you can here: https://www.texastribune.org/2022/04/04/texas-border-operation-imprisons-thousands-accused-only-of-trespassing/

I know you won't, because it will force you to confront your paranoid racists fantasy of violent animals assaulting helpless conservatives, but I put it here just in case.

"Texans who live near the border don't have plentiful access to guns?"
Can you imagine how you liberals would react if ranchers just started shooting illegals?

Here is what happens at the border and elsewhere because of illegals.

Depending on how long they were there, they would've died locked in a trailer in Martha's Vineyard as well

They arrived by chartered jet, and not in a trailer.

Trying to deflect?

They all signed waivers, not abducted.

Under false pretenses making the waivers null and void. They were told there were jobs and housing waiting, neither was true. Desantis didn't have any authority to even be making offers like this. These are people. He treated them like bargaining chips. Taxpayers footed the bill for this publicity stunt for votes, and they're going to pay again when these immigrants win their class action law suit.

These are the same promises the NGOs in their home country make when convincing these people to come to the U.S. illegally in the first place.

MA is providing them housing and in MA, which is a sanctuary state, illegals are allowed to work. So it wasn't a lie, not that it matters since nothing in writing made such promises.

Even with Soros paying for their lawyers, I doubt they will win. They signed waivers that they agreed to be relocated to MA. Fully consensual.

Many of them had court appointments in the next days and had to leave right away. It was a waste of time and taxpayer money.

A waste of money, yes.

While it did raise awareness of the crisis, it was a waste of money, but at least it got people talking about how bad this crisis is.

The Right does a lot of professing to be followers of Christ, whether you do or not. 90% of immigrants from Venezuela are fleeing the instability and fighting that's going on there. That's where these people are from. It doesn't matter what their status is, how they got here, how many countries they passed through. They're human beings looking for help, willing to risk everything for a better life because what they're fleeing from is 1000 times worse. You and Desantis can see them as less than human because they don't qualify for asylum or whatever, but what he did to them and their kids was shitty. Using them as political fodder for votes just shows what a piece of garbage Desantis is.

"It doesn't matter what their status is, how they got here, how many countries they passed through"

The United Nations Convention and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees states, "Refugees must apply for asylum in the first safe country they enter."

In July 2017, the European Court of Justice upheld the regulation, declaring that it still stands despite the high influx of 2015, giving EU member states the right to transfer migrants to the first country of entry to the EU.

"You and Desantis can see them as less than human because they don't qualify for asylum or whatever, but what he did to them and their kids was shitty."

What DeSantis did is exactly what Biden has been doing for the last two years.

Sure I mean let's just make them walk all the way back to Texas, too, while we're at it? It's their parents' fault for trying to escape all the violence and instability in their own country. Like who cares, right? @@
0 ups, 2y
First of all, I am not a Christian, nor is everyone on the right Christian.

Secondly, they entered this country illegally, breaking the law, and yes they should be deported.

There are procedures to enter legally and it is unfair to all the people who are trying to enter legally. Even legal immigrants think it is wrong, which is why more and more Hispanics are voting Republican.

If what they were doing is fleeing their own country, why have they traveled through several other countries to get here? Why did they not stop in one of these countries? Instead, they keep going and try and come here. Some are coming from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the middle east.

Third, while some are fleeing instability, 90% don't qualify for asylum or meet refugee status. They are just coming for jobs, and most have left their families behind.

No.

Because that's the exact level of planning DeSantis put into this.

He airdropped them and gave 0 f**ks about their fates. He didn't care if they died.

He only cared that people like you knew that he'd done it.

0 ups, 2y,

Yeah, he did so little planning that every illegal was given a package with a map of MV, instructions on where services were located, taken right from the MA Social Service website, and all signed waivers stating they agreed to be relocated.

Sorry, don't buy your BS.

A map? LOL he should've given them a compass, too. They had to walk 3 miles just to get to any kind of help. They got shanghaied by Desantis.

"They had to walk 3 miles just to get to any kind of help."

Yeah, cause the largest and busiest airport in MV is empty and there is nobody there.

Strike that, it was 3 1/2 miles and they had little kids with them, too. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/migrants-marthas-vineyard-plane-florida-governor-ron-desantis-immigration-massachusetts/

They just walked thousands of miles, crossed deserts, and got across the Rio Grande to enter illegally. No sympathy. They put these children at risk along the whole route.

Complaining about a three-mile walk in Martha's Vineyard is a joke.

But they weren't in a trailer, so other than deflection, what is your point?
