This would be an effective point but...the Federal government not only staffs the border along with facilities to house them, it literally gives $100s of millions to the border states for additional services.

So...what are the so-called fiscally responsible GOP governors spending those 100s of millions on?

The context here is: Border states are not sanctuary cities. Santuary cities should be always ready to take people at any time. Because that is the way illegals come in from the border. 3) the only reason San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, and Dallas AREN'T Sanctuary Cities is because Texas outlawed them in 2017.

So...Abbot made it impossible for migrants to be housed in a nearby city.
